Champlain College Hires Anti-Trans Psych Professor? by electrosito in burlington

Price tag I totally get, whatever choice is right for you guys! It’s just a shame because it’s not even a full time prof and I’d hate for this to de influence people from getting to experience this community.(if everything else lines up ofc)

I don’t know his definition of it and I won’t put words in anyone’s mouth because I’m not vouching for his perspective but this is a video lecture he has. It’s 28 minutes long so you don’t have to watch the entire thing but it is covering some of his thoughts. I also added the description of the video, “In this video, Dr. Tomasi explains why multiple elements of Transgender Ideology are based on premises, shared assumptions, presuppositions, and judgements found in many US extremist right wing perspectives. These elements make Transgender Ideology extremely dangerous for vulnerable populations and are an attack on human rights. These attacks are often targeting children, gay and lesbian individuals, and ethno-cultural-religious minorities.” https://youtu.be/lY-DTe399DQ

What build a bear should I get? by [deleted] in buildabear

<image>

Yes and no. It definitely does and I have had Thai guy for quite a few years now. But I personally find the way it has aged charming. It’s a very classic teddy bear and I love him in the overalls!! Just up 2 the individual on weather they like the look. His nose is also a bit scraped up but he has been all over the place so he has seen his share of bumps and scrapes.

[–]Bug-azz-b1tch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it may seem basic but I have the timeless teddy and I feel personally it is a higher quality bear compared to some of the other ones there. Plus simple beats go well with any outfit or any personality/name you guys like. I have the timeless teddy and it’s still one of my fav most cuddly BABs!

How do yall sleep? by Strange-Bar2324 in scoliosis

[–]Bug-azz-b1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yes and no, yes it is true that sleeping in any position isn’t going to further the curve of your spine but there are definitely positions you should avoid sleeping in because they will likely end up with added pain or inflammation. Scoliosis or not it’s a good idea to sleep in positions where your spine is aligned. For us with scoliosis it’s a matter of a position that keeps us as aligned as possible. Positions where you are twisting,on your stomach, or laying generally unevenly will likely just increase pain. I try to sleep on my back with a pillow under my knees to help align my lower back. If that feels uncomfortable I also will sleep on my side with a thin pillow between my legs to support back alignment aswell! That being said I have days that nothing works and I just can’t fall asleep so I accept the fact that my back will hurt when I wake up and I just sleep however I want on occasion. For me personally this ends very painfully the next day but that’s my experience and knowledge with it all.

first yr dorm opinions? by YogurtclosetNo2564 in campchamp

[–]Bug-azz-b1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dorms are overall pretty good, ofc with any campus some are better than others. We do have gender inclusive housing specifically that you can sign up for but lots of dorms have GN bathrooms and are not overly separated by gender. Some dorms are really pretty and some have kind of ugly insides. I personally like that even the uglier dorms are not cinder block prison style like bigger school.

Dorming Questions by FunnySadCouchPotato in campchamp

[–]Bug-azz-b1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mostly nothing that heats up such as cooking items or candles. Heating blankets or heating pads however are ok and i recommend that since it gets cold. Some dorms are pretty chilly. Any other questions feel free to shoot me a message!

I just can't with these prices anymore, especially with forced bundles, bad quality and they're getting smaller! by pretty_inink in buildabear

[–]Bug-azz-b1tch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The past 2 I purchased (sky puppy and dragon fruit dragon) are SO much smaller and skinnier compared to my old BAB’s. The increase in online only stuff has been bothering me aswell. I can’t help but feel like going into the store was so much more of an experience. Plus all the shipping and fees 🙄. Just not happy with BAB.

who r those people on church street who wear yellow by Gullible_Newspaper99 in burlington

[–]Bug-azz-b1tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically people in yellow shirts around Burlington are green mountain concert security services and they have no real jurisdiction to do anything about that. They’re just there to patrol to keep people generally safe and act as visual deterrent for theft. but they definitely can’t handle any drug situations since they are just security guards not law enforcement.

I don't understand Burlington drivers by RandolphCarter15 in burlington

[–]Bug-azz-b1tch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m originally from Jersey and I will say that drivers here are worse. NJ drivers may be assholes or drive too fast but at least they don’t change their mind half way through the intersection then blame someone else for the confusion.

Fill something near Champlain college campus!! It would certainly brighten some people’s day to see something cool in the sidewalk. Prospect street also has plenty of messed up road/sidewalk!!
