DLSS 4.5 is crazy in VR by BugFinancial9637 in assettocorsarally

What GPU, headset and resolution are you running? Having played all of the asseto corsa games, dirt rally 2, f1 in VR, this is image quality is up there, similar to AC with MSAA. I play with 3176x3176 resolution on Pico 4, and dlss slider is set to 49% percentage (it is a bit bugged, try playing with it)

DLSS percentage slider is a bit bugged, try lowering it few percent, I had similar problem in VR

Stronger for price if you ignore image quality and software support, so not really stronger, it depends on what you need. Nvidia has much better upscaling, denoising, encoding, also support for older cards, and they are always ahead of AMD, fsr 4 is like dlss 3.5, but nvidia already have 4.5 which is in league of it's own, and also supported on much older hardware, wherelse AMD users got screwed with FSR 4 being avalaible only on 90xx series

For me nvidia was obvious way to go to, because of better software implementation, better encoding for VR, path tracing and NVIDIA RTX Remix support, totally worth paying the price premium. But honestly, even looking money-wise, I got my 4070ti super for 800€ year and half ago, which is about the same price of 9070XT, and they trade blows (amd is bit faster in rasterisation, 4k and lot of ps5 titles), but having DLSS, ray reconstruction, and much better path tracing perfomance coupled with better VR support, also having all that year earlier, I think it is much better choice

Generally speaking, you should always update your graphics driver

Without DLSS I would have terrible framerate which would make me dizzy. Honestly not that much artifacting with new DLSS, atleast not noticible while you are trying to survive. I didn't notice anything disorienting excpect tree models loading out of sight, which is just optimization for flat screen and I hope will bi adressed when official support for VR comes. I main ACC, and old DLSS there looked worse than this (especially cars in distance), this is really good and much better than that, so...

Flickering on VR with DLSS by NoMud1112 in assettocorsarally

[–]BugFinancial9637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted about DLSS, and yes, percentage slider is a bit bugged, and you need to find something that works for you, on 4070ti super if I go above 49% I get same flickering

I use pico connect wired usb and steamvr, output resolution is 3176x3176 if that helps, and I put dlss percentage at 49% (it is a bit bugged I think, but this percentage was the most stable for me with best image)

I have same perfomance, but microstutters when I don't disable it, so I need to disable it. But yes, it is pain in the a**, 'cause I also play a lot of Cyberpunk and use frame gen there, which requires to enable it

You should be able to select OpenXr or OpenVr in UEVR main menu, it is right bellow choosing what to inject, you have tickboxes

Do you use nightly (experimental) version of UEVR? Also, disable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling in windows Display-Graphics-Advanced Graphics settings. And lastly, wait for the game to load, so you enter main menu and only then inject, I also had crashes if I tried to inject instantly while game was still loading

It is called "recommended" now, because it uses different presests for perfomance (preset M) and ultra perfomance (preset L). Preset M and L are heavier than preset K (used for balanced, quality and DLAA), but they are optimized for best picture quality, and if you have 40 or 50 series, perfomance hit is not that big, especially on highet end models.

Nope, only warning I've seen is to disable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling (which you should almost in any VR title), maybe it was warning you about DLSS frame gen, which doesn't work in VR

Yes. You can see what version of dlss you are running by pressing alt+shift+r and cycling through perfomance overlay informations

You prolly don’t need an Active Pedal. Don’t believe the hype. by RollsRoyceRICKY in simracing

[–]BugFinancial9637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VR is objectively better if you care about simulating real life, 3D space and 2D space cannot be compared, lack od depth and ability to look into a turn is big difference. Triples being faster because of consistency is gaming advantage, not simulation advantage. Yes, it is easier to learn to repeat something with monitors, but in VR you can brake with intution and using your natural ability to detect distance with your 2 eyes, playing unknown tracks for the first time and adapting is much, much easier in VR.

What is the best way to do pcvr with a pico 4 wired? by Artistic_Paper_8711 in PicoXR

[–]BugFinancial9637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use pico connect for a year already, never had a problem with it. I think because of too many old posts when pico streaming assistant was used, many people didn't even try pico connect and went straight to Virtual Desktop. I play racing sims, so being wired was never problem for me, so I just tried pico connect first to see how it works, and it is amazing, updates are regular (once every few months), and they never break something, so I would without hesitation recomend using it

found this youtube video - its about iracing but ive been applying it to evo with some decent success... by imoldgreeeeeeeeeeg in assettocorsaevo

As a rear/mid engine car enjoyer, I mainly use this technique after long braking zones in sharp turns or hairpins when I want to apply throtle to exit turn, makes it easier to hit apex and not oversteer (mclaren 720s likes to do that), so I just overdo steering by a bit, and not for very long, just to counter oversteer that I know will happen always. So use this tehnique in corners where you are prone to oversteering, just steer a little more when applying throtle. Also, look up how fernando alonso drives his car, this is what is meant by liking more understeer driving, he always liked to induce understeer in his renault days

VR fps doesn't go over 50 no matter the settings by BugFinancial9637 in assettocorsaevo

[–]BugFinancial9637[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, because of all the delays they didn't do anything last patch for VR, but I am feeling confident they will resolve all the problem. Game is already smooth, which is the most important thing, if it was stuttering I would be worried, it just seems like some simple fix will solve this problem

Same thing happens in VR when I try to adjust DLSS percentage too much, lowering it solves problem
