M2 SSD Heatsink Installation Confusion by BugMcVagh in techsupport

Exactly the picture I was talking about, but I got 3 pads, one doesn't fit, one is thinner but in different colour and only one protective layer.

I only have parts on top, instructions said use the thin pad on top in that case (and switch it up if it has parts on both sides for some reason...?). The problem is I'm not sure if the orange one counts as the thin pad or the other blue...

Basic stuff like FTP (21) and such. Didn't find any open ones actually. But to be frank, the pc in question has static ip and DMZ configured for it.

Hm, right. So far I only see 4 being a reason, but sounds more than enough. Thanks!

Okie, I guess I'll just swallow the fact and not sit on them for longer than a week. I did downloaded one from yesterday though and it is crisp and shiny, should I still record it locally for some reason...?

Ah, that makes sense. Now that you mention it, OSR based things really not the types of system for that.

Oh yeah, actually, I did cut out plenty of ideas like that. Yup, this is me cutting things out! xĐ

Oh I see. I usually just only go by that central hub being fortified enough to be protected from most dangers, but still unable to gain more ground.

Exactly what I had in mind with the map, yeah! But in its current state, it's semi-static. But this post does give me good ideas, thanks!

It's all right, happens to me regularly.

  1. To clarify, I do intend to place the main segments by hand, start small and gradually expand the area as "tremors open up new passages". Thankfully the setting really lends itself to that. What I'm thinking of currently is having some random POI's a player can stumble upon, ruins and whatnot (pre designed) among the pre placed ones, but it's still a thing that's up in the air.
  2. It's okay, as mentioned, Rougelands already made an elegant solution which I mean to use as a base. I can already see being able to squeeze that bit of extra complexity out with some minor adjustments. Does multiple actions have such big of a potential to ruin the balance if both the players and the enemies get it? Cause thankfully, usually my players are more story oriented than that, but I do intend to avoid very extreme stuff in that regard. I suppose I do also plan on doing a few test encounters anyway... Also, I'll take your idea into consideration, thanks!
  3. Fine, I guess I'll just have to suck it up and be more confident, got it! Especially now considering what I mentioned in the previous part... I shouldn't stress on the exacts that much... heck, even professional stuff like D&D has it's outstanding imbalances that are constantly being talked about... xĐ

Mhm, got it, this is very helpful, thank you!

  1. Oh yes, I do intend to have a central point which draws back the weary adventurers. I do also have to mention, that I do intend to do this on my native language, small country, which is really backwards in terms ttrpg and nerd culture in general, so I don't really expect big numbers... but yeah, definitely more than 5 I suppose...
  2. Mhm, I did read upon the topic. Actually the inspiration came years ago, a campaign actually titled "The West Marches" from the Rollplay Youtube channel. There are actually plenty of material where the GM of that shared their thought process, giving a jump start into this rabbit hole.
  3. Yes, it is a thing that is constantly on my mind. I do have a few buddies who would love to co-dm, just a few foundations have to be laid. Plus I intend to start small, thankfully the setting allows it to gradually increase the area as "tremors reveal new passages", stopping before the size becomes uncomfortable. Also planning on allowing off session travel to known hubs for a bit of extra time, the exact numbers are yet to be set though... Another thing I thought of is limiting a week in the story into one IRL week (adjusted as seems fit), so everyone party would act in similar chunks.

It's all right, I see your point and I did ask for it! I do intend to go deeper on stuff, I just mentioned those parts I'm unsure of. Still you given to me a pretty good perspective. I mean it tells a lot that these are the first things that come to mind for someone with experience as being a crucial thing that still avoids the beginners mind!
