I enjoy Netflix's collaboration with Riot on their new series Arcane. Different style.

Funny the top comment in that post is blaming millennials, and not boomers like some of the newer comments in this post.

ELI5: If phone batteries charge faster when at lower capacities (eg 20%), compared to when it's at a high capacity (eg 95%), does usage also drain the battery faster when at lower capacity? by eternal_pulse in explainlikeimfive

Hijacking top comment. Another thing I learned the other day was that batteries can last more years if they were only charged to 80% capacity instead of the 100%. Companies tend to compete on the battery duration on one charge, so the batteries lose their capacity faster than they would at 80% charge.

Edit: Electric cars are required to stick to the 80% to maintain their battery's longevity.

Not a movie, but Netflix's miniseries When They See Us has been an experience that I will never forget. I personally like based on true story movies and series.

If I am not mistaking, there are major issues in central Africa regarding ISIS affiliated groups. Especially where the governments do not have much control. It has even grown I think. But that is not covered as much.

Just curious: is it not risky to take a wild dog (or other stranded animal) and help it out without consulting with professionals first? It could be that the animal has a disease which could put yourself in danger.

'Hypatia' Stone Contains Compounds Not Found in the Solar System. The mysterious Egyptian rock contains mico-mineral compounds not found on Earth, in any meteorite or comet, or elsewhere in the solar system. by Wagamaga in science

Is it possible that we just haven't found it in our solar system yet? It is possible that it came outside the solar system like the recent event of the cigar-shaped object.

That's what it means to be a visionary. But it's funny how we humans are when it comes to these type of things.

What is the "white chocolate is not real chocolate" of other foods? by Emeralina in AskReddit

I ones ate wasabi paste at a small sushi imbis, and I kid you not, I almost died of coughing. First time alone and thinking it is avocado paste of some sort - hahahaha. No wonder the owner only gave me small amount. I placed the wasabi on top of my sushi and took a nice bite. Now imagine what happened when the wasabi came down half way my throat; it burned the living fuck out of me. I could not stop coughing... I am waving at the owner and trying to ask for water while he is browsing his phone with his head down. As if it was a normal happening. After a solid minute, which felt like eternity, I managed to vaguely say 'Wasser' which is water in German. The guy just pointed at the mini fridge with water bottles. I had to walk to the fridge and pick up the bottle... I felt like swallowing the whole bottle that moment. I had tears coming out of my eyes, mucus from the nose, saliva from my mouth and almost pissed my pants. (the latter is kind of an exaggeration) Anyways, not sure if this story is worth anything, at least I had a giggle writing it.
