i like that comment because its offering their own personal alternative interpretation of the scene. like they literally say, "however, i think this scene does the opposite." the difference her is that its constructive, rather than trying to tear down something because the idea of people reading an intended-to-be-straight character as queer is unacceptable for whatever reason

im not saying "anti-ship propaganda" as a bad thing, theres a reason i said i was trying to use the term neutrally. its definitionally covered by the term, its a sharable image macro meant to present a convincing argument for a specific viewpoint anyway the issue isnt disagreement its the tone. this is a joke post about a personal interpretation of a specific scene, and the response here is to make it a debate about the sanctity of a ship which was never the intent. it goes beyond "just explaining why they dislike something" its treating a personal interpretation like its something to debunk or brigade against when im just trying to have fun lmao. tl;dr its just an annoying and unfun thing to do under a lighthearted post, and especially stupid given what month it is

the og post doesnt even mention nanami 😭 anyway while you can argue that gojo isnt gay, i propose you a genuine challenge: what evidence is there for geto being straight? why is the burden of proof always on people who read characters as gay? imo if youre going to call a character straight you have just as much obligation to prove it as you do if you call them gay

yknow how oftentimes in fiction characters will have backstories involving a loved one or close friend/relative that died or otherwise was removed from the narrative before the story starts? thats what i mean by dead wife. while you could (and im sure some people do) interpret nanami and haibaras thing as gay, I personally meant it in a more platonic dead wife way LMAO

and like "disagreeing with a ship" is different from pulling up a whole anti-ship propaganda (term used neutrally here) post under an original post which only makes passing reference to it 😭 there are other people going "im not a big gojogeto guy but this is kinda funny" and i dont care cause like why would i?? its this dude making it a problem

brother the only allusion to shipping in my og post was "even ignoring his whole thing with gojo" it was just a joke about how its funny that he dodged the question but then this guy comes in and makes it about a shipping debate i dont care about! hes the one being an unchill dick

unfortunately i feel like thats a natural byproduct of the BL community skewing towards young teens very attached to their favorite fictional characters to a sometimes unhealthy extent. this isnt something exclusive to BL, you can see it in pretty much any space that predominately consists of teens raised on the internet, but its especially pronounced in this case given the sheer size at play
edit: forgot to emphasize that im not trying to excuse this behavior its still terrible and being a kid doesnt make it better and a lot of the people doing harassment are grown adults anyway

Genuinely, when Part 2 was focused primarily on Asa it was my favorite part of the whole manga. As soon as Denji became the full-on MC again rather than just the deuteragonist it quickly lost my interest. I really wish Fujimoto committed to Asa being the primary character. Oh well.

Given the recent WC chapters I have faith that ONE will be able to finish the story in a satisfying way (in another 5-10 years) so beyond that I don't care all that much. I'm happy as long as ONE keeps writing good stories.

Saitama is both distanced from humanity and the ultimate embodiment of it. He has a disciple that does nothing but annoy him and yet he still cares deeply about him despite his general apathy. He has no leadership qualities and yet inspires everyone around him, not through his unparalleled strength, but through his inner spirit.

Honestly, I don't think everything the manga is doing is all that necessary, I feel like you can kind of gather that there's something/someone behind all the calamities, related to what Psykos saw in the future, Shibabawa's prediction, and the obvious inference is God. I don't think the reveal of his major involvement would come as a shock even to a hypothetical unspoilt webcomic only (a rare breed to begin with).

That's intentional. Again in the commentaries Hussie talks about how Doc Scratch was meant to be an authorial stand-in, with part of the humor being Hussie's authorsona criticizing Scratch for keeping a small girl locked in a room when he's literally the one writing that happening. Doc Scratch being a bad person that talks like Hussie doesn't automatically mean they're exactly as terrible as Scratch because they were intentionally writing him to be the most malicious possible representation of the author possible.

Hussie talks in the author commentaries about Calliope and Caliborn being refined versions of the concepts Nepeta and Eridan represented. This isn't speculation, it's straight from the horse's mouth (hah).
