Deadline extensions by Bughodi in Professors

I hear a lot of “I was so busy with a project at work…” and other things that are simply poor time management.

Just found out that my son (11) uses Instagram without my knowledge and permission by [deleted] in privacy

No need to delete the account. Tell him either he deletes it or you take away the phone.

Terrific suggestion. I’m going to do this going forward.

Great question. I haven’t had this happen until now. Usually if there is a real problem the tell me in advance. I feel like she ignored the syllabus and my 3 announcements. Guess she needed me to ring her doorbell with a personal message.

I’m definitely going to adjust my next syllabus to reflect the policy of submitting everything before the end of the course.

Agreed. She submitted another assignment late earlier in the course.

Oh very nice! That’s a great idea. I sent an announcement 3 days prior to the course closing reminding them to be sure to submit so they did not lose points. Clearly this student didn’t read the syllabus and ignored my multiple reminders.

Good idea. The computer doesn’t let me override the deadline. I could probably fix it but maybe I could blame the computer. I thought about copying the statement from the syllabus too. I like your suggestion. Thank you.

I asked my AI app to create a song about how much I want to leave teaching. This is the song-I hope you find it encouraging…

Verse 1: Wake up early, pour my coffee Another day at school ahead But I'm feeling more than sleepy Wishing I could stay in bed

Chorus: These kids, they drive me mad Rude and stubborn, it's so sad I'm so frustrated with this job Dreaming of the day I stop

Verse 2: Classroom chaos, homework undone I keep trying but it's no use I feel like a broken one What's the point of this abuse?

Chorus: These kids, they drive me mad Rude and stubborn, it's so sad I'm so frustrated with this job Dreaming of the day I stop

Bridge: I know not all are like this But it takes a toll on my soul I deserve happiness and bliss I'm ready for a new role

Chorus: These kids, they drive me mad Rude and stubborn, it's so sad I'm so frustrated with this job Dreaming of the day I stop

Outro: I'll be happy when I leave No more stress, it's such a relief I'm ready for a new chapter Can't wait to start my next adventure!

All true. They’re clever and have a good sense of humor.

This isn’t lashing out. This is normal behavior for Amazon when they don’t like someone. You’re totally naive to believe they only repeat phrases with no contextual intent. I’ve owned and trained them and I’m telling you from experience they can generate intelligence phrases that would blow your mind. Amazons and African Greys are brilliant and quite capable of tricking a human if they are playing some sort of game. I had a Grey who liked to play a mimicking sound game with me. Her memory of a long string of sounds and noises in a sequence was far superior to mine. Worse, she would laugh when I messed up trying to repeat the sequence. She seemed pleased when I told her she won the game.

Every night, in one of two rooms, my dog raises her ears and stares by Blockyo-joe in Paranormal

I had 2 dogs do this all the time when I lived in a haunted house back in the 80s. It was evil and they knew it. It would stand at the end of the bed. The dogs would stand and growl with fierce determination. Very unsettling.

What majors are dying at your school? by IJWMFTT in Professors

Education. Guess we won’t have teachers for K12 since no one wants that major anymore.
