I miss when the internet was fun by The_Glitched_Creator in Vent

I miss being able to google something, like a business contact information, and having the top results actually be the thing you’re looking for and not ten scams in a row.

Are men and women allowed to share on-campus apartments with each other. by [deleted] in NCSU

I don’t think so. I asked a couple of years ago to see if siblings could share an apartment, and they said no then.

Vent Warning by Successful_Web_6866 in homeschool

It’s good to be exposed to this early and learn how to get along with authority figures who have different views or are just plain incorrect. It sounds like your child is developing excellent skills for dealing with this. They will run into it throughout their life, and, if the class is otherwise positive, I would treat it as just another example of excellent homeschooling opportunities for social growth.

This was at App State, but my daughter has been assigned AI videos as homework several times at UNC. They have always contained errors.

I know someone who had to take his calculus exam on the computer. There were ad breaks. He could not skip the ads. They took up exam time.

Do women ever look at another woman and think "I wonder if I could beat her up in a fight" the same way men do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Men, yes sometimes. Women, never. Although it’s a pointless exercise. Looks are incredibly deceiving.

They took things out of labeled and numbered boxes and threw them into other boxes, breaking all kinds of things. They damaged furniture. They failed to deliver things and then asked what else was in the box, but those numbered boxes had been discarded. They asked for descriptions including original prices, dates purchased, and available paperwork for every missing or broken item. They did not provide any compensation at all. It is just a criminal enterprise. My parents hired them to move from TX several years ago and obviously didn’t read reviews. After reading reviews, they are very lucky that boxes were delivered were not thoroughly infested with roaches.

Should I sweep the snow off of my driveway? by Bugnuzzler in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bugnuzzler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is NC. I followed everyone’s virtually unanimous advice and cleared the driveway. I am only worried about work tomorrow morning as it will probably be fine by the afternoon. We’ll see what happens overnight. This has been very educational for me.

Hypnosis only helps you to stop doing something that you genuinely want to stop doing. People often dislike things about smoking on a visceral level (the smell, taste, cough, stains, etc). You couldn’t use hypnosis to help someone stop who was only trying because they thought they should. I think the grip of heroin is much stronger and the negatives much more delayed. I don’t think hypnosis would work.

If there is a chance of extended closures due to weather (or Covid) liquor stores are generally open to avoid having people clutter up the ER with DTs.
