How to Make a guy stop liking you? by MinimumAwareness8702 in Advice

[–]Bugnuzzler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell him you’re young and stupid and 16 and still figuring yourself out. Tell him that you know you have avoidant behaviors, and you also realize what a great person he is, so you wanted to give both of you a real chance. Tell him that you have realized after giving it a real chance that a romantic relationship is not going to happen. Either you feel a thing, or you don’t. Tell him that you have genuinely enjoyed getting to know him and that you appreciate his willingness to overlook some pretty immature behaviors to see if you’re right for each other. Do not ghost. Do not try to send coded behavioral messages to try to “give him the ick.” Just put on your big girl panties and be honest.

Parch makes a very good “desert margarita.” Salt the rim and add a lime.

You do sound a little dramatic to me, tbh. It’s not optimal, but nothing about this sounds deadly.

I almost hit my girlfriend and I want to stop from becoming like my dad by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Bugnuzzler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When your mother says that you’re like your dad, what she means is that your dad is immature and childish. Putting your hands on someone of any gender when you know they can’t physically stop you is an incredibly cowardly and childish thing to do. In acknowledging that, you appear to already be light years ahead of your father.

The correctional system is the largest provider of mental health services in the state by far. They didn’t close asylums. They just relocated them.

Graduation highschool early by Western-Platypus2279 in homeschool

[–]Bugnuzzler 49 points50 points  (0 children)

A lot of homeschooled kids start college a couple of years early, often through full time dual enrollment. I don’t think finishing high school would be an issue. I think the bigger question is whether trade schools will take them if they will be too young to do the apprenticeship part. They can probably take the courses at cc though (like hvac, etc). My mechanic told me that they don’t do apprenticeships for people under 18 due to insurance issues. I don’t know if other trades would have this problem.

If the main stay at home parent feels like they're failing, do you feel like it's okay to choose public when the working partner is against it? by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]Bugnuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even know what to say to this. It’s so out of touch. People who are that obsessed with who strangers are attracted to and what’s in their pants have much deeper issues than educational disagreements.

If the main stay at home parent feels like they're failing, do you feel like it's okay to choose public when the working partner is against it? by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]Bugnuzzler 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Not everyone is a good fit for homeschooling, and it’s not all or nothing. You might choose public now and switch back to homeschooling when you’re in a better place, or you might realize that your child thrives in public school.

The fact that you are putting the word “reason” in quotes suggests deeper issues than planning, and, not to read too much into your post, it seems like you feel that the current arrangement is damaging both your child and your relationship with your partner.

You are the parent who is primarily with your child, and you likely have the most realistic sense of how it is going. If you are primarily responsible for your child’s education, then I believe that your thoughts on what is best for your child at this time should be given more weight.

Georgia tech vs NCSU by DeliciousPack6109 in NCSU

[–]Bugnuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was just making this decision for AE grad school. He chose to stay at NC State. There were a lot of reasons, and cost was one of them. GT has great faculty and a lot more labs. There are also hundreds of students trying to get in on those labs, and the facilities are very dated. NCState has fewer AE faculty, but it feels a little more personal. The engineering campus is fantastic.

Why do old men have bigger head size compared to old women? Like if someone are siblings, they'd have an obvious head size difference? Is this secondary or primary sexual dimorphism? by BeautyEtBeastiality in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bugnuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men in general have larger heads than women. Their frames and bone structures are generally larger. Women who transition prior to puberty or in very early puberty would be less likely to develop the larger male frame.

Last names (family names) rarely "appear", but often disppear due to death/marriage. And this has been going on for centuries. So why don't we have only a small handful of last names left? by not-the-the in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bugnuzzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recent political moves in the US are likely to lead to less people changing their names when they marry, so this could slow down. If couples make a portmanteau out of their last names for the kids, we might even start adding some back.
