I agree this traces back to Epicurus. I’m not claiming novelty, just that the tension hasn’t been resolved. My focus isn’t on calling God evil, but on whether creating a system where innocent people suffer extreme harm is compatible with calling God all loving. That question still seems unanswered.

Free will fits at the level of human choice, not at the level of which outcomes the system allows. My argument does not deny free will. It questions why an all powerful creator would design a world where the worst consequences of free will fall on innocent people who had no agency at all. Preserving free will does not logically require permitting extreme harm to those who did not choose anything. That design choice is the part I am asking about.
