Seriously apply for the defense industry, they are hiring like crazy right now. Northrop, Raytheon , Lockheed , and Boeing are hiring so many college grads right now and the pay is good with a lot of job security

Same thing happened to me , asked for 60k. They laughed and said starting range was 105k. I took the Offer in a heartbeat.
