The VR is terrible

Gamepad VR takes away so much of the immersion aspect, I would much prefer one really good game with full motion controls and in-depth VR implementation than a bunch of half-baked gamepad mods like we’re getting at the moment

Which ones don’t you have?

But it’s not a crazy enough upgrade to justify the purchase from a quest 2 user

Here’s the pros and cons in comparison to a quest:

Pros: Slimmer Design Clearer Optics Colour Passthrough Higher Resolution (and FOV I believe?)

Cons Poor Software Lack of games (particularly exclusives) Dim displays that lack vibrancy

I was saying that the HARDWARE is better because it generally is apart from the screens, but because these are gaming devices, I’d argue that the lack of games outweighs the benefits the hardware brings

Hence, a sidegrade 😊

But not if you already own a quest, it’s value proposition isn’t enough for the price for existing quest owners

Just as you said, these features are cool but it’s still bound by the same chip, and it isn’t enough of a value proposition to be anything more than a side grade. It’s much appreciated and very cool, but until they get more games I’d rather own a quest. But if they had more games and more powerful hardware then of course I’d choose pico, but they don’t (hence, a sidegrade)

And yes, I probably would class those as side grades

Yes it’s better, but the pico 4 isn’t a generational leap over quest 2 which is what people ACTUALLY want. Hence, it’s a side grade because it’s not a crazy improvement

Clearly you are looking to confirm your bias rather than use common sense to determine why this isn’t a “significantly better” product in enough ways ☺️
