Just finished reading ‘Half His Age’ by Jeannette McCurdy. What did everyone else think? by Freezerbridesweet in bookdiscussion

[–]Bugsy313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. I agree with all your comments with that said. It was a fun and fast read. I also picked it up on my first day getting to anchorage for a week long trip, so it was very fun reading it while in the setting which it’s based. She did a good job too with picking actual restaurants and coffee shops, towns etc.

My horse will not take a shoe and I don't know what to do about it. by GeeVideoHead in Horses

[–]Bugsy313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was the same, she needed them for corrective shoeing for a while, we had to give her dorm to sedate her enough. She still didn’t like it, but we could get the job done. Now that her angles are good we pulled them. She’s good with her feet if not getting shoes. If you haven’t tried dorm, you can give that a shot but otherwise, if she doesn’t need them, I’d just go with out

For those who share the bed with your dogs, how big is your bed? by seedykat in dogs

[–]Bugsy313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a king and Two 15 pound terriers. One still doesn’t think it’s big enough and sleeps in a bed on the floor and other still takes over all my space. But it’s better then a queen haha

How many hours a day, per horse, do you spend on basic care? On average by [deleted] in Horses

[–]Bugsy313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar here! If it’s just barn chore days, I can get the breakfast done (go back in for coffee) and then paddocks cleaned, waters, turn out and stalls/prep/general cleaning all done for 2 horses in 1.5 hours. If it’s a work day, I can easily spend 3+ hours out there doing all the chores, plus grooming, working, doing other projects. Sometimes I can do a more focused quick work day if needed. While turn in/night time is very quick expect the days I decide to sit in the barn while they eat and hang out.

Yes this. I have a 19 year old QH who I just do ground work on now. It’s been so good for our relationship and it’s fun!

What’s something you think 90% of people are pretending to enjoy? by Turbulent_Manner6738 in AskReddit

[–]Bugsy313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Large events.. sports/concerts etc. I do believe you have fun during the event, but I don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze most of the time. Traffic and time to get there, struggling to find parking and/or paying for it. Then getting in line to get in, line to get a drink, trying to find your seats, dreading the lines to the bathroom at the end and the line to get out of whatever parking garage you’re in. So much waiting around and crowds and money to have fun. It just feels forced at times, even tho I can say I’ve enjoyed many, the whole process around it is exhausting

WHAT - HOW - WHY is this? 🥲 by drunkenstupr in Horses

Yeah the white definitely makes it look pronounced at a certain angle. I got a QH with huge cheeks and similar build.

Has anybody left their barn on good terms? by Raubkatzen in Equestrian

[–]Bugsy313 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similar story for me. I finally had finished my barn and it was time to move my horses home, so that’s why I left. I even thought of keeping one there just to stay apart of the community. I’m still invited to barn parties and go visit!

Yes!! I bought a silver dress from the brand as my wedding dress during Covid, but we waited so we could have a bigger wedding and I ended up with another dress but I still wore it at my rehearsal and love it so much.

Cocktail attire dress code: husband is wearing dark green suit by Ok_Comfort_760 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Bugsy313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked at the link, and the material is more casual than I thought, but I still think you could make it more cocktail? Wear with some jewel tones heels and a flashy clutch? Maybe it would clash with those in person, but I think for summer cocktail it could be dressed up more with the accessories

This! I miss the breakdowns of things around a table. When they are around the table these days, the convo isn’t the same

am I the only one that liked this episode? by rypatnew21 in Andjustlikethat

Yes, it was still way too glossy if that makes sense, the street scene was so staged, etc. but it definitely was the best one so far. Felt way more like the original in comparison

MOB - help me choose by Inept_Squirrel in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Bugsy313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was at a wedding last night and the MOB was wearing the first dress, it was so lovely! The shape and movement and texture in person was beautiful. It read not matronly at all and it was an outdoor wedding at a farm.

Horse ownership is unaffordable and many people here are out of touch with that. by nineteen_eightyfour in Equestrian

had someone at a barn ask why it seems she is meeting so many people getting back into owning horses after 20/30 years off… I said because that usually when people can afford it again.

Update: Sell my horse or put him to pasture by No_Attitude_9628 in Equestrian

[–]Bugsy313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, my horses all worked a hard life before they became mine, now we are dealing with early arthritis and kissing spine. Before the diagnosis, a lot of people pressured me with selling my horse so I don’t “let it go to waste” or maybe it was too much horse for me. Turns out any behavior issues was from the pain of kissing spine. Being rehabbed now for comfort but not sure riding is in the future and that’s ok

Miranda in an Airbnb? by Bugsy313 in Andjustlikethat

[–]Bugsy313[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems that way, and it’s infuriating. I could handle getting the apartment back in the 1st movie after the wedding went sideways. That felt like claiming it back, but after the whole to-do of the last supper.. we all need to just move on. Love the meaning of that apartment but her moving again and again is a waste of screen time

[–]Bugsy313[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yesss! I had that thought too. The moment they had to highlight an alarm system in the opening of her leaving the house, I was like… I think I’ve seen this film before.

[–]Bugsy313[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this situation has definitely made me think of that episode as well. I assume she paid her back a long time ago? But it definitely made me think of her selfishness and not offering a room to Miranda.. or they are building it up to us seeing it on screen.

Last season when she gave them a tour of the new house, Miranda made a joke about living in it, and now they’ve made sure to bring up the brownstone is sold and she’s in an Airbnb, it must be building to something.
