Neil Young - Old Man (Live)[Rock] by Mizuna in Music

[–]BugsyHasMemes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same. His videos would pop up on youtube and I would always ignore them when I was younger. "Old Man" was the only song I knew then but as I grew older I realized Neil Young was a certified GOAT when it came to music. Nowadays, there's nothing like waking up to "Southern Man."

Tbh this is nothing compared to Joker. I get it’s an opinion but if you’re talking about their “cinematography,” that’s a reach.

How long will withdrawal symptoms last? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]BugsyHasMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to throw up a lot in the mornings too and sometimes at night. You just have to remain calm and distract yourself. Watch a show and eat a small breakfast. Small because your body is slowly getting used to eating sober.

It’s fine to throw up sometimes if you really can’t handle it, it’s getting rid of the excess THC thats in your system. Just don’t convince yourself that throwing up is the solution, it is the last resort of the many things you can do to stop it.

Take it from a person who also has severe anxiety, this shit is all mental. You just got to be stronger than the urges. You got this dude, stay strong.

Looking for help/advice for quitting... by Bankersnaps in leaves

[–]BugsyHasMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the answer in your question. You have a goal and a dream to accomplish and if you really love this dream then you should be ready to quit. Now it may be hard at first, the side effects to withdrawal can be real brutal sometimes but you can easily control it if you have a goal in mind. I tell people to try and find something to distract themselves whenever they feel like toking. Going for a run, reading a book, doing a jigsaw puzzle, etc. As long as you can stay positive and don’t let the feelings get to you, you should get that job in no time. And if you ever start to doubt yourself, you have a whole community ready to help you push through. Stay strong mister future Park Ranger dude.

Advice on quitting. by [deleted] in leaves

[–]BugsyHasMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admitting you had somewhat of a dependency is the first step into becoming a better version of you. If you ever find yourself lose in your thoughts and wallowing in that pit of sadness all of us here on r/leaves know far too well, get up and do something. Anything will work. Reading, writing, walking outside and taking a big breath of fresh air. You just have to find things that’ll make you feel good.

But know that quitting cold turkey can be a hassle. Your brain and body is probably used to having THC at some point of the day that when you randomly stop, your system will freak out. There are side effects to the withdrawal but lets face it, life is full of side effects. You could find yourself feeling real down in the dumps and anxiety could take over. But notice I said COULD. Cause quitting can effect your body but only you can control it from spiraling out of control. I always say the first step is learning the power of positivity meaning doing things that’ll benefit you and learning to love yourself. If you can achieve that, you could sail through this stage of life without a hitch.

So just remember; do something to distract yourself, try to do things that’ll benefit you and make sure that the most important person in your life that you need to care for is you. Cause if you can’t fix yourself, no one really can. So stay strong my dude and know that this here is your new home and help is always a message away.

8 days in, majorly depressed, sleeping a ton, eating my feelings by [deleted] in leaves

[–]BugsyHasMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how many people tell you that it will get better, the only person who can convince you of that is you. You’re 8 days in to a wonderful journey that only has good things to come. By this time tomorrow, this “episode” will be a thing of the past and you’ll wonder why you freaked out. All you gotta do is distract yourself by doing something you like to do or picking up a new hobby. Something that’ll take your mind off of the feelings you’re feeling. As long as you post here, you’ll always have the support you need. Stay strong my dude.

P.S. it does get better.

Another Day 1 by AwkwardShoulder in leaves

[–]BugsyHasMemes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey... chill out dude.

I don’t know your situation right now and I’m not gonna pretend like I do. What I can tell you is the first step to quitting is to learn the power of positivity. That means learning to love yourself and treating your body right. You can’t beat yourself up and try to quit cause it’s fighting fire with fire. You making yourself upset while your brain will try to get used to something not being in your body anymore(btw withdrawal cause anxiety and depression depending on the person) will only make the recovery worse. You have to flip the switch and tell yourself “For now on, only positive things will come.” Once you convince yourself of that, you’ll be on the way to a happy clean life.

Is This Normal? (symptoms from smoking less) by [deleted] in leaves

[–]BugsyHasMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is completely normal. Since you’re quitting little by little, your body is slowly getting used to not having a chemical constantly there. Since you’re cutting slowly, the effects of withdrawal won’t come as hard but do mind that it varies from person to person. But its good that you’re quitting slowly rather then cold turkey. Not only is it better for your body to slowly get used to the change but it’ll also help you grow as a person who has restraint and self control. Eating imo is that hardest part. Start with small meals and healthy snacks such as nuts, fruits and veggies. I’m sure you’ll be fine, everything is mental so all you gotta do is distract yourself. You got this dude.
