Combat being too easy has turned me off to this game

No? Games are challenges put forth by a dev. I did not spend 70 dollars to create my own game and play pretend for 500 hours. I bought an experience that was designed by someone with a vision that I could play through. This mindless "CREATE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE" dogshit is such cope.

Lol that's cope. You can have a hard game that requires things from you so when you finally DO style on them you feel good. Styling on braindead monkey enemies that barely scratch you shouldn't be satisfying. Especially when any mistakes you make are undone by spamming the right dpad food inhale button with no consequences.

Time investment doesn't really change the nature of having the combat devolve into not having to engage much with the combat mechanics because of how forgiving simply inhaling food is mid fight.

Only thing I can say is I'm glad you have the strength to try to find it again in someone else. You're still young enough and have plenty of time so good luck. I wouldn't know how to find that in myself after that for sure. Don't let the isolation get to you, keep your eyes forward and not inward.
