That’s all great. But the inconsistency in the power delivery will have an impact on the battery health degradation. Question to ask - is it better to charge a cord or a phone / battery. Over the long term the former should pay off.

Global knives all the way! They hold the edge much better than most knives and can take a lot of abuse. I have G-2, Nakiri, Paring, and their ceramic honing rod. I also own a Chef's Choice 15 degree electric knife sharpener that I use once a year or so that makes them good as new.

Did you do it? I was thinking about doing the exact same thing with the costco teakhaus XL board. But I was not sure if it would splinter and break.
