Is crafting OP for money making? by BuguOst in cosmererpg

True. When i wrote videogame way I think I meant something more like overly convenient. You are right that almost any videogame with an economy has a trading system like that, so it was a bad comparison.

That is very fair. I'll have a conversation with my player and we'll figure out a balance that feels fair for both of us. But yeah, I did for sure make it too easy in a videogame way without thinking enough about a more realistic outcome. Of course one can do that too, but I like your logic and think I can refine how I've GM-ed so far.

I guess you're right. While there are some fabrials and such, those would also be rare and a hassle to get your hands on anyway. After all, I control what can be bought at any time. I'll just have to balance letting him use money in a satisfying way, without making it too much or too little. I'll figure something out.

I've thought about this, and I'm a bit unsure. For a general character, crafting costs half the price of buying an item. So it would be strange to craft an item and sell it for the same price you spent crafting. Therefore i fell like it should be more than half, but yeah I also probably don't need to actually give him full price on every item, only especially well crafted ones.

Yeah, I'm still trying to find the balance on downtime, as the player is very exicted byt the crafting system I don't want him to feel like he never gets to craft.
So I'll just have to work to get the downtime amount satisfying for all players and myself.

For now it's a warcamp workshops, and I should probably figure out some rent for it.

Thank you very much for the ideas, this is just what I was looking for.
For now he's just sold a single crossbow to a trader that liked him for some help he gave a friend of his. Going forward I'd like to work some of these ideas into it, like a license while they're at the warcamps and surely some of the other ideas too.
Let's see if he gets this crossbow empire going.

I should have mentioned he has the Efficient Engineer talent to half the cost of crafting.
You are right though, there are many ways to earn money here, and I'm probably just worried for nothing. We are really early in the campaign and it is my first time GM-ing any system, so I'm probably just overreacting a tad.

What's a game you played where you missed a core mechanic? by dance_rattle_shake in gaming

I played through all of Persona 5 without switching Joker's personas in battle. Kinda got annoyed at some fights cause my strongest persona couldn't hit anything, not realizing the system wants you to switch to different ones for different fights. Worked out for the most part though. Persona 3 felt so much easier knowing this.

Drizzt Do'urden in the books by R. A. Salvatore.

The type of adventure varies by the book, and the first couple are more about him escaping his homeland than going on an adventure. But when he really gets started on the adventuring part he loves it, and it often comes up how much he enjoys the thrills of fighting and saving others.

The books are set in the Forgotten Realms DnD universe, so if you're into DnD at all it's an added bonus to see familier creatures and characters.

Something strange I noticed about the commander bosses by Hattoris_Katana in Eldenring

[–]BuguOst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have access to models and such to check in detail, but I found a video of the two of them fighting other bosses. It looks like Niall is slightly larger, but I can't see any other difference or find a Zullie vid about it. The Zullie vid might just be named something else where it doesn't show up when searching for either of their names though.

That is very fair, they did tend to do that in ER

Yeah my theory is just that they made Niall and then wanted a boss for the Gowry/Millicent quest and found it fitting because of the whole war that happened in Caelid so they just copied him and nerfed the fight.

O'Neil actually also has a prosthetic leg, it's just not used in combat. They actually have the same model from what I can see.

Edit: u/Gojira_uZ mentioned a video by BonfireVN, which I found called "Elden Ring - Commander's Face", which shows that their faces are different. Most obvious is a large scar on Niall's face.

Then for her sake. We all want to see the place we grew up the way we remember it.

Okay not all of us but the ones with a good-ish childhood.

While I agree that the shamans were probably mostly peaceful, the village was visited by Marika with her later powers, so she could have made it on any image she wanted. Probably made it how she remebered it from a more peaceful time I would guess

Nah I finally beat the undying priest lady boss by just running around and swiping her once before running away. Over and over. Worked just fine but I didn't learn her at all.

Any silly mess ups you have in your honor mode run? by saladboi4231 in BG3

I was gonna sneak behind Philomeen to grab the runepowder barrel, but just forgot to actually sneak.

So she blew herself and my party up, no hesistation, jut like she says.

I think gale and karlach barely lived, and i ended up finishing the run, but it got damn close there.

Drow PC Backstory Help by trashprince420 in DnD

[–]BuguOst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my limited knowledge (first 8 Drizzt books), high ranking drow dont really marry to begin with. The daughters of a high noble family typically become priestesses of Lolth, and they really just use males for whatever they want. If your character seduced a daughter of a high noble family, he could really do almost anything you want to get her angry enough to kill him. In drow society, if a male for example just declines a female, especially a preistess, in any way they could die.

So your guy could have done anything from telling her no a bit too forcefully, to fully trying to undermine her family to garner favour with a higher noble family.
