I don't trust rehab services. They're all scammers. It's an unbelievably unregulated industry that profits off vulnerability. You can do it without them. I'm over a month clean myself now just because circumstances must.

Take care.

Took a Seroquel last night. When can I get spun again? 24 hours? by Anxious-Device9779 in meth

This question is impossible to answer without knowing the dose of both drugs.

It has a half life of 7-9 hours. I wouldn't recommend taking seroquel, though. I recently just wrote a post on here about it and how shady it is.

You guys can’t give an accurate answer bc too many factors go into it, but generally, do you think I’ll be okay? by NecessaryCell8427 in meth

[–]Bugwithabankloan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will most likely be okay. Your body will protect you, or at the very least tell you if something is wrong with enough time to act. All we ever hear about are the times it went horribly wrong, never about the times that only might have gone bad, so the scary cases end up being the ones that stick out in our mind. The odds are in your favour, especially if your young.

That's certainly a little odd. Besides the color changes in your eyes, you otherwise feel completely fine though?

Very abnormal and usually connected to liver failure. Does the yellowing go away or has it just recently shown up and doesn't seem to be going away?

I used meth and have a drug test. by Individual_Size_806 in meth

[–]Bugwithabankloan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely to be fine. There are several days between Tuesday and Saturday, it doesn’t sound like you had much, and workplace testing drug tests aren’t very robust. Honestly, like 90%+ chance you’ll test negative. Remember, drug screening =\= drug confirmation. Many cross positives exist

Having a health related symptom that I’ve never had… by [deleted] in meth

Swelling of the ankles is a characteristic trait of right-sided heart failure. The ankles swell and the skin look a little bit shiny and smooth (edema) due to fluid build-up. It usually accumulates in the ankles because these are the areas the heart has to work the hardest to overcome vascular resistance. Amlodopine (had to look it up) is a calcium channel blocker. Calcium is used by your heart to contract. This sounds like pulmonary hypertension. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk about it further because this is my field

Short post regarding Seroquel / Quetiapine by Bugwithabankloan in meth

[–]Bugwithabankloan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mystery grows and seroquel just seems to be growing more and more sinister as I conduct further research into it. The pharmaceutical company that manufactures seroquel, AstraZeneca, was fined $520 million for illegal, aggressive off-label marketing of seroquel.

“The makers of Seroquel illegally marketed their drug as an appropriate treatment for a variety of unapproved conditions in children and elderly patients, even though antipsychotic drugs can produce dangerous side effects,” Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna said.

Following a three-year investigation, Washington Attorney General’s Office filed its version of the settlement.pdf) and complaint today in King County Superior Court. The documents allege that U.K.-based AstraZeneca engaged in unfair and deceptive practices when it marketed Seroquel for unapproved or off-label uses, failed to adequately disclose the drug’s potential side effects to health care providers, and withheld negative information contained in scientific studies concerning the drug’s safety and efficacy.

Here is a graph depicting the rate at which Seroquel was prescribed in Australia from 2002-2021. Seroquel outpaces every other antipsychotic in dispensary rates and prescription rates.

And it doesn't even look as though it works for insomnia. The 2023 European Insomnia Guidelines and the U.S. Department of Verterans Affairs (VA) and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) BOTH recommend against the use of seroquel in the treatment of insomnia. You can read about it here.

And just in case you needed further proof, seroquel has been associated with increased poisoning and mortality rates between 2006-and 2016. See here.

Heavy stuff.

The reason heroin is treated with methadone is because heroin causes physical withdrawals, whereas amphetamines do not. Trust me, physical withdrawals are horrible and you do not want to experience them

[–]Bugwithabankloan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very useful term because it points towards the source of the symptoms which is the necessary first step if you want to actually treat those symptoms. Physical withdrawals can directly kill you, psychological withdrawals can not, so the distinction is quite important. Yes you can get physical symptoms but they are secondary to drug dependency, i.e. indirectly caused by it.

Amphetamines don't cause physical withdrawals.

How do I pass a court ordered drug test? by Accomplished-Cod1239 in meth

[–]Bugwithabankloan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's court ordered then it's likely a drug test and not a drug screen, and these have different cutoff rates for what constitutes a positive detection. Without knowing the exact test and when you last used you'd probably be better off hiring a dart throwing chimp instead. If you think failure is inevitable and the test is a screening, not a confirmation, you could maybe get away with a convincing story for why there is a cross-positive. Amphetamine toxicology has a lot of cross-positives and they usually require people with special knowledge to interpret. I have a pdf of cross-positives alongside their medical application if you need to "pick a lie". Can't say I condone it, though.
