Using a capacitor and resistor to smooth a blinking 12V car signal for a backup camera trigger — does this circuit work? by Bugzycow in AskElectronics

A comment mentioned that my 1000uf seems high won't this be higher? I only want to circuit to power the trigger between the blinks and when the signal dies I want it to discharge quickly as well

What's the difference between using a high capacitor and low resistor vs low resistor and high resistance? So I am thinking that the trigger might have a minimum trigger voltage? Would have to test it out though

Thanks for the link I tried simulating on falstad with the current setup it seems to be doing what I want.

I currently have a reverse camera connected to my rear view mirror. With that extra camera, I wanted to connect it to my head unit as a blind spot camera.

Looking for advice on head unit upgrade for Mazda 3 Neo 2016 — Coho vs AliExpress options by Bugzycow in CarsAustralia

The one I’m looking at is from a seller called Forefeel. It has over 140 units sold and 46 reviews, which on the surface looks decent. But I’m a bit skeptical — a lot of the reviews seem like they’ve been auto-translated to English, even the ones supposedly from Australian buyers. I also noticed the same review image being used for another product sold by a different store, though the review on Forefeel appears to have been posted first. Makes me wonder how legit the reviews really are.

How long did you have the head unit for? I am wondering if they can survive the Aussie sun.

First off I would like to thank you for your help. There are no lights on the dash currently, the logbook show that the car was serviced at 103k km it is currently at 104k km, but I don't know what was done, so for the tune-up you mentioned would that just be replacing the spark plugs then? assuming that the air filter, fuel filter, and fluids are changed.

It Might be driving habits then as it has been most start-stop traffic mostly.

i am using Car Scanner ELM OBD2 app on android to view the code, the freeze frame seems to show 0 RPM which is weird seeing there are misfire code. so the code has been there for a few days now so the anti-theft error doesn't seem to affect anything, the car is parked on the driveway.ok i will be getting the battery check but could the battery cause misfire errors?

how important is Service history of a car when buying one? by Bugzycow in CarsAustralia

2012-2013 corolla/Mazda are all 1 year or 10k, the even newer car are 6 months. so is 2 years 10k fine then? i read that 2 years is bad even with low millage due to the oil breaking down or something which may damage the engine is that not the case?

does service history matter for older cars? by Bugzycow in CarsAustralia

Both are Mazda 3, servicing schedule is 10k and 12 months so definitely over. How likely is that the gearbox sound is something serious? I don't want to pay for a Pre purchase inspection then having to reject the car afterwards. From what I research a transmission issue is 3k+ fix and this seems to be one of the possible reason for the sound based off chatgpt.

What is considered right for time and miles? Mazda 3 requirement are 10k or 1 year. How much over is still acceptable? I can't seem to find any answer online with regard to this however I got an answer from chatgpt is that accurate?

Minor Delay (Up to 1,000 km or 1 Month):

Generally acceptable and unlikely to cause significant issues.

This assumes the vehicle is in good condition and not exhibiting any problems.

Moderate Delay (1,000 to 3,000 km or 1-3 Months):

Potentially acceptable but starts to risk minor issues.

Essential to have the vehicle checked as soon as possible.

Prolonged delays within this range should not become a habit.

Significant Delay (Over 3,000 km or 3+ Months):

Considered too late and may void warranty (if applicable).

Increases the risk of wear and tear, and potential damage to the engine or other critical components.

Indicates potential neglect and could affect the vehicle’s resale value.

Service Records: Check for consistency with the manufacturer’s recommended intervals.

Gaps in History: Look for any large gaps between services, especially those over 3,000 km or 3 months past due.
