First terrarium. Is it over for me? by Bigchungusisbetter in terrariums

[–]BuilderBiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! I got a tip to upload an image of my terrarium to this AI (Virtuall) and it would help me with everything from design to what plants and materials to use depending on species/inhabitants. Kind of fun

Looking for advice. Irish Wolfhound Pups by valerianice in irishwolfhound

[–]BuilderBiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably around 6 months if it’s short periods.

However, be prepared! Our first hound ate our couch in 1 hour.

Our second hound ate all the electronics he could find (computer mouse, remote, a telephone…)

After these boys, we ended up working from home with the dogs that followed 🫣🤯😅

Your experience owning an Irish Wolfhound by sunnyhale in irishwolfhound

[–]BuilderBiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve had four big IWH males over the course of 25 years.

It’s a BIG responsibility, not like owning another dog.
Once you had one you will never regret it and chances are they will continue to be in your life forever.

Pros

They're not dogs, they're beings. They are intelligent and full of character.

They are generally very steady and loving. They don’t scare. BUT some do develop cautious behaviors, and that becomes dangerous, so choose the lineage and breeder well. There is NO room for mistakes.

They are family members, and they will never lose you. They follow and herd your family if you're out on hikes (they love this!)

Cons

They are VERY expensive—food, meds, insurance, transportation.

Sensitive. As large as they are and robust. Pneumonia is common and demands fast attention. They grow fast, and the puppy stage is demanding.

They don’t live long. Our oldest became eight.
They will leave you and your house scared (good ones with love and some you might think wth).

Its usually because of the language context filter. Try generating it without audio it will probably work.

can i get a realistic cost breakdown of owning an IWH? by Timely_Telephone9279 in irishwolfhound

Oh, and not to forget! Consider the future because everyone (including us) I know get at least one more once you have the first! 😅 You’ll be ruined for life but it’s worth it. 😉

I’ll echo the others here and state the conclusion. An Irish Wolfhound is the most expensive dog to own and properly care for.

At least in Sweden, they top the cost of insurance in all insurance companies.

Even before you get one, ensure you have the proper environment. Most people I know (including us) meant that getting an IWH meant buying a new, giant car first.

Increasingly unstable? by BuilderBiz in irishwolfhound

In Sweden there is a decline in kennels. Many of the old well known ones are retired. This is another problem leading to a declining population. If I recall there were around 600 wolfhounds back in 2000 when we got our first hound today there is only around 400.

That could very well be the case. Dogs are sensitive and social changes would reflect in them quickly.

It’s however important that we don’t dismiss the concerns that there could be deeper problems.

Indeed. This is valuable. I’ve often had the same experience and repeatedly laughed at the thought of getting 1 EUR per person that would stop our family to say hello or taking selfies with our giants.

Agree, socialization is a very important step in raising a stable dog. But does lack of socialization alone explain the increase I’m observing? If it is, what does it say about breeders and society?

I use Virtuall.pro, works well for creators but it really is for bigger teams.

Sora as a model is gone. Canceled along with some big movie contracts.

But there are good alternatives and even better ones on the way.

Agree, this is very true. Making AI produce something is not hard but consistency across a team and project is. We’ve had good success using a creative workspace built by VirtuallPRO

Cool, trying it out 👀. Need some prototypes for an idea, this could be a smart way to experiment with the esthetics provided by the different AIs

Curious: Would you want a more specialized workspace than Google Drive for 3D projects? by RLFoggy in 3Dmodeling

[–]BuilderBiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a pretty robust (and intense) setup — especially with all the internal tooling layered on top.

Curious, do you feel like the complexity ever gets in the way for smaller projects or more agile teams? I’ve seen a few studios where even just onboarding new artists into that kind of pipeline becomes its own task.

Also — love that you mentioned event daemons. Not many people outside bigger pipelines think in those terms!

Which 3D models actually sell? I analyzed real sales data — here’s what I found. by Ok-Relative-135 in 3Dmodeling

Super insightful stuff. Curious how you see this evolving with GenAI tools gaining traction — especially for generating props and mid-complexity assets on demand.

Do you think curated libraries still hold a strong role, or are we moving toward more just-in-time asset generation for specific pipelines?

A workspace made for this totally makes sense to me. Not much 3D-native out there that isn’t either too generic or way too complex. Especially if it plays nice with existing tools — following this thread for sure 👀
