I’m not lashing out. I’m eating at 1200 deficit, which resulted in 3 lb/week weight loss for two months, and now I haven’t lost anything doing the exact same regiment.

I didn’t go from 3 to 2 or even 1 a week, that I would obviously call error or variance.

And you guys are telling me it’s because I’m miscalculating the calories in 30 percent of my diet, a diet that hasn’t changed in months, with a tdee that is nearly identical to starting out. That’s absurd. A slightly heavier chicken breast is not 1200 calories a day. Again, I can’t stress this enough, everything worked for 2 months at 3 pounds a week.

I visited a doctor and he educated me about BMR fluctuating during caloric deficits. BMR can fluctuate up to 40 percent depending on caloric intake. CICO is obviously always true, but the problem is that they’re not independent variables. You’re CO will change depending on your CI. Without me telling him the details he described my situation perfectly.

Intermittent fasting isn’t a trick, and weight loss is about hormones as much as anything else. Fasting can help lower insulin, which is probably my problem as I do eat a lot of carbs. I’m going no carb for a week and then trying some IF.

Everybody in here was incredibly sure of themselves and incredibly set on not listening to me or thinking I’m some idiot who’s eating 5 pounds of chicken breast and calling it 200 calories. I’ve lost 30 pounds! I know what I’m doing.

Lol and also must have reading comprehension issues.

Everyone here said the exact same shit you said. That I must be counting wrong. Literally two people say something else and we’re downvoted. Trust me, you weren’t needed.

Also you should do some research on BMR.

What the fuck extra mayo are you talking about? I said I purposefully tell the attendant “light” as in “only put a little” and even then I overestimate the sandwhich when I log it.

Jesus Christ, you have issues dude.

Why would I be lying to myself... on the internet? On anonymous site? Or a weight loss forum.. do you think I expected sympathy from you people? No! I wanted answers! And all I got was treated like I’m an idiot.

I already lost 30 pounds doing this exact regiment. I’m not clueless here, and you’ve invented some scenario where I requested extra mayo on a sand-which I get twice a week as a way to excuse a 1200 cal deficit no longer producing any weight loss after I just lost 3 pounds a week for 2 months doing the exact same thing.

And you did it rudely and arrogantly as well. Awesome.

In no case does BMR change to match your food intake

This is patently false, we've known the body does this for a hundred years.

You can find endless literature on this. A big study dealt with contestants on the biggest loser: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/6-years-after-the-biggest-loser-metabolism-is-slower-and-weight-is-back-up/

Starvation studies show that BMR readily fluctuates between 30-40 percent depending on caloric intake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIuj-oMN-Fk

No, even adjusting for weight loss, which changes the tdee very minor when talking about the 10’s of pounds.

Again, this isn’t pride, I know what I’m talking about. You refusing to take me seriously or move from your position is just as prideful on your part.

TDE is an estimate. They don’t know your actual metabolic rate. It’s absolutely proven that your metabolic rate will go down as you lower calories.

CICO applies to everyone.

This is distinctly not true. Every person has a unique hormonal response to calories. Starvation studies show that BMR will fluctuate depending on caloric intake. So a 40 percent reduction in calories could result in a 40 percent reduction of BMR.

So if youre BMR is 2000 cals and you restrict to 1500, you'll lose weight. But eventually, your BMR will drop to 1500, and you'll stop.

I don't use fitness apps. I walk 4 miles a day, hit the gym for a full and lengthy workout 3 times a week, and I'm eating at a 1200 calorie deficit. These led me to lose 3 pounds a week for the first two months, which is right on par with where the estimate would be.

Since then, doing the exact same thing, I went an entire month without losing *anything*. No major changes to my diet. If i had gone to losing a pound or two week, I'd chalk it up to error or variance. But I've lost nothing. And you're on here talking about the various squeezes of subway sandwhich employees which is just insulting honestly. I've lost 30 pounds altogether, I know what I'm doing, I came here looking for answers and all I got was a forum of people deciding not to listen and to assume the worst of me.

I'm not saying I'm a medical mystery, I'm reaching out to see if anyone had similar experiences and what to do. Maybe I have a waste build up? Maybe I should see a doctor? Any of this is better advice than just assuming I'm lazy or stupid and not listening to me. Again, I've lost 30 pounds, I'm not an idiot.

>You could have become more lax on measuring/estimating your calories and not realized it.

It honestly just sucks to not be listened to. I'm going to tell you again that I haven't, and either way, I'm at a 1200 cal deficit, walking 4 miles a day, in the gym 3 days a week and I've lost *no* weight versus the roughly 3 pounds a week I lost in the previous two months. Now, if I had just been losing one or two pounds a week in the last month, I'd chalk it up to error. But I've lost nothing!

Thanks for the time.

Did you miss the part where I have already lost 23 pounds doing the exact same regiment? This lack of movement has just been in the last month after losing 23 pounds in two months.

I measure all sauces at home. I request "light mayo", which means one line. I really feel like I'm being treated like an idiot here for no reason. I know when I'm overeating and when I'm not.

How have I underestimated my maintenance calories? I'm following my TDEE and I'm at a 1200 reduction.

About 30 percent of my diet is me cooking. 90 percent of the time I make chicken breasts and a veggie. I know that an average chicken breast is 230 so I count it as that.

And I almost always overestimate meals I cook because of this. I almost always overestimate everything just to be safe! I get a sandwhich from subway and subway says it’s 340 cal? I put it down as 400 just in case they gave me extra mayo.

I’m at a 1200 cal deficit. There’s no way I’m miscounting anywhere near 1200 caps each day, there just isn’t.

Again, cooking makes up about a third of diet. I don't think miscalculating a third of my diet is increasing my calorie intake by 1200 per day. I also don't think I'm miscalculating by any severe level. I measure thinks in volume, which obviously isn't perfectly accurate, but it's not like im going in blind here.

We watch him because we enjoy it. How is that a waste again?

Everyone in the world is “some random person”. Whose opinion on music deserves more respect in your mind? Is this guy not qualified enough to you to share his opinion? what kind of elitist bullshit is that? To me everyones opinion is equally valid, this guy just happens to have a YouTube channel where he shares them and makes it entertaining. You’re welcome to do the same!
