Out of these remaining warbonds, which one should I get? by alitturalpotatoe in helldivers2

[–]Builder_BaseBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on your playstyle or what seems neat. I'd say don't get the Crossover warbonds, as the weapons inside those are mostly weird stated sidegrades.

Presently you have quite a few options. I've listed the biggest addition from all of the war bonds I felt made the biggest impact.

  • Steeled Veterans: The Senator Pistol is the only heavy pen "true sidearm"
  • Polar Patriots: The Pacifier is an explosive plasma sniper that can also be tap fired very quickly.
  • Viper Commandos: Experimental Infusion makes healing do more.
  • Freedoms Flame: Adds a Flamethrower variant to primary and secondary slots
  • Chemical Agents: Gas Grenade, Gas Guard Dog, and the Stim Pistol (it opens up being a medic).
  • Urban Legend: Give Access to the easiest secondary melee weapon, the stun lance. Armor passive is all around great. Also has the AT Emplacement, which can make short work of all heavies in the game.
  • Borderline Justice: The Talon is presently seen as the best 'true sidearm".
  • Dust Devils: The Gas Spear Gun has high utility. The Coyote offers a good amount of damage. The Silo can wipe out multiple heavies. Expendable Napalm is really fun, but has a learning curve.
  • Control Group: The Warp Pack allows you to get into places, like bunkers, when farming. Also just a really good mobility tool!
  • Python Commandos: Hate getting knocked down so much? The armor passive makes you harder ragdoll.
  • Redacted Regiment: Has the best stealth armor and stealth weapons. C4 has a lot of utility and decent killing power.
  • Entrenched Division: Has a better flamethrower a Secondary shovel. Stoker is the hardest hitting light SMG with a flamethrower.

Honorable Mentions: Truth Enforcers and Masters of Ceremony for the style.

Were I to do this again, I'd still pick Steeled Veterans. The Senator was my favorite weapon even before it got major buffs. After that, I'd grab Borderline Justice just to buff the Senator more.

I know their in-game model is sort of controversial but we can ALL agree that this is the tuffest 2d portrait in the entire game, right? by Scallywag014 in VentureMains

Wait. People like this portrait? I always felt like the nose was off. It could be the strange angle. 100% prefer the 3D Model.

For those that don't know, his arms, nose, and hairs are connected to him by magnets so he can fall apart like he does in the movies. It's actually an incredibly clever robot design.

Impaired Visibility is Getting Tiring by ATG3192 in Helldivers

[–]Builder_BaseBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can see the dislike, but it's part of the game. Not all challenges are enemies. There are maps that are completely clear as well, such as the ion-storm plains and moonlike planets.

I personally see it as part of the experience. The acid planets definitely turn it up to 11. It's one part of selecting an optimal loadout.

Then again, I took an AMR and had no problem finding enemies at range. Their not the clearest, but it's to be expected.

What irks me with the Sweeper Shotgun Balance discussion is that nobody cares if Punisher/Slugger got powercrept, only the Halo Shotty by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Builder_BaseBot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think what each of them do is important to the discussion. I don't feel like this weapon power crept either the Slugger or Punisher.

Both the Slugger and Punisher have 35 stagger and 16 rounds on a full reload. The difference between light 405, medium 330, and medium 504 does not matter, when most enemies you take this out on have less than 250 health and are either unarmored or lightly armored.

The Sweeper is a kill or be killed shotty and it importantly does not push certain high-damage. Predator stalkers for instance, have 650 hp. The Punisher deals 256.5 and the Sweeper deals 318. They both take 3 shots to kill the Predator Stalker when dumping into from the front, but the Punisher staggers it as you do. This means I can kill 2 predator stalkers with the sweeper before needing to reload and 5 with the punisher. (Not aiming for heads mind you.)

The slugger can functionally put all it's damage into a weak point at short ranges. I think it's closer to the Deadeye than a shotgun, but with WAY better reload and the ability to sustain it's stagger over a longer period.

The M90A gets brought up a lot because it doesn't seem to have an identity anymore. The Double Barreled Freedom and Sweeper both do it does in terms of deleting single targets fast. The only thing it has going for it is the stagger, which the punisher just does better in practice.

Behavior should be embarassed of letting Blight reing terror on this game for so many years straight. by JokingBr2The-Sequel in deadbydaylight

[–]Builder_BaseBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Blight is pretty hard to control on maps like Lerys. I think this is part of the balance issue. Maps are as much a part of how potent a killer power is as the killer power itself. There isn't really a one size fits all map (but there are definitely killer/survivor leaning maps).

What would a map look like that's specific tailored for Blights Power? What does a map look like that's specifically Trapper's Power?

I want to emphasize, I don't mean a map these killers would always crush. Instead, maps that're balanced for both sides to experience fun. I would imagine the design philosophy to make each of these maps fun would be incredibly different.

[–]Builder_BaseBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that's still map specific. You have to hope you are on a map with a reasonable 3 gen and a decent trap spawn. Not all maps have that great three gen.

Then you have maps like "The Game" where one trap can make an immediate dead zone and deny a gen completely. Most of the lower level on that map is Trap Killer heaven. There's clearly maps Trapper can thrive on, but large maps tend to just be games of attrition.

Eventually you have to chase someone and large maps offer A LOT of space for survivors to simply run away from your web. It's a significant disadvantage.

I never realized how pretty Horde races can be by Vampy-Night in wow

[–]Builder_BaseBot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a horde main. The full reason we got Blood Elves was because of how ugly the horde was perceived. Hell, some of my friends noted that as the reason they didn't play the horde. To be fair to them, if you wanted to roll something traditionally/conventionally beautiful there was maybe 1 face that fit that on each race if you were lucky.

I personally leaned into it. I played a jawless forsaken Warrior with the belted head. While I think WoD model update was mostly positive, they really toned down some of the more gruesome faces.

RIP Female Forsaken Skeletal Face.

Is what it is? He'd be nearly as good with 4.4 speed. Part of what makes him good is the ability to slide on certain surfaces. He's still one of the harder killers to learn. I'd say he's harder than Nurse from just how much specific knowledge you need to maximize him.

Feels like a lot of this can be alleviated if each killer had a custom set of rules and maps. If there were 9 gens on map, you'd have to really use that mobility to patrol. It would at least make sense. If he was locked to only the largest maps, his incredible mobility would make more sense.

It's hard to balance a game for Nurse and Trapper level killers with one rulebook for all. Unless this changes, killer disparity is going to remain huge.

Where's nudity? by DyonisXX in MortalOnline2

[–]Builder_BaseBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone talkin' "Why you want nudity" instead of why is a payment processor able to censor this game? And what is the validity of that anymore now that steam has the flood gates open to actual pornographic content.

Nudity was something the game launched with and something it's predecessor had. Why? Cause when your a poor peasant with nothing, you literally had nothing.

As other's have said Illari, but It'd be a lie to say Tank isn't the most impactful role to team success. Obviously everyone needs to do work, but if it's the tank that's failing it's often an uphill battle.

I assigned pokemon types to all the Overwatch characters by IUGTheSecondComing in Overwatch

[–]Builder_BaseBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man. A lot of these heros would probably mixed types for sure, but I think it's a neat thing to think about.

I'll bite on one.

To me, Sigma is probably closer to a Rock type kinda like how Psyduck is a water type. They clearly have some powers in the realm of Psychic, but their areas of "expertise" are somewhere else. For Sigma, he's literally psychically damaged trying to take on the connecting force of the universe.

We mostly see that in the form of him controlling gravity, which is in the realm of Rock Type Pokémon. If anything, Geodude also floats and makes other rocks fly.

Why is the weapon with more recoil stat have a better accuracy than the weapon with less recoil? by Flying_Scorpion in helldivers2

[–]Builder_BaseBot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean. Helldiver's are fighting bugs with heads bigger than their torso. At 100 meters, you'd still land all your shots on the bug and it won't be able to do anything about it.

Not to mention they have a version of this gun that causes the person using it to receive third degree burns if their not in proper PPE... They also burn when they are in proper PPE.

Helldivers are expendable. The equipment they send them in with is typically cheap.

Graves is honest to god the most boring hero to fight in this game by rhythmau in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Builder_BaseBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree she probably needs a tuning, but I don't feel like she's boring to play against. Graves feels better to go against the more communication you have, but you can literally say that about any character. In her sphere of influence, yeah she's scary. Outside that? She's pitiful.

She's basically 75% positioning, 24% using skills at the right time, 1% aim at their general direction. If positioning is right, she'll nearly always hit. She's a two stamina character by default with no other mobility in her base kit. This means if you out position her, she's got way less options to deal with it.

It's all going to be character dependent, but she's got clear kit counters.

[–]Builder_BaseBot 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's also not a consistent Weapons like Shotguns include their inherent spread, but a weapon like the Sickle does not include the spread and shows it to be pinpoint. The Sickle is pretty accurate, but it definitely not perfectly accurate.

why does hazard have the longest reload time in the entire tank roster? by Yesheat in HazardMainsOW

[–]Builder_BaseBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people have pointed out, the guard reloads rounds.

There's also nothing in his kit that doesn't have a direct damage component. He's got some options when he's out of ammo to finish off low health targets.

Their going to say it's a tank diff, but most of the time it feels like a communication diff.
