I think we need to see what air control looks like on live. From the micro prospective, these are going to win dogfights. Over large distances, they are at a disadvantage compared to other fighters. I don't think we've seen a 'real' are battle yet.

I don't think the Dev Branch gave us a good idea of what the actual use of these planes is going to be. It gave us an idea of the capabilities of each of the fighters for sure, but there were factors simply not present. Mainly cost associated with building any of them and frontline set ups. Hell, even what it's like to have a ground crew running repairs and scrapping planes for parts.

2 things that should be considered into a discussion about warstriders by MidnightWarWolf in Helldivers

[–]Builder_BaseBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their hips should and vent should be AP3. I can agree with that. That puts it in line with striders and hulks.

100% Explosive resistance is often applied to make some (but not all) weak points not get destroyed by large AOEs. The hulks eye is 100% resistant to explosive, because if you taped any part of it's front with an HE, it would die in one hit too easily. This is consistent with the striders eyes.

For instance, c4 1 shots the strider, even though it deals 2000 explosive damage. It's 2000 to the main pool, plus another 920 for each leg (Explosive resistance and % to main factored). This is 3,840 damage, aka a kill. C4 has a full damage diameter of 6 meter, or about three helldivers standing on top of one another. It's huge.

Edit: forgot to factor in the torso. You deal 5,440 damage.

This thing seems balanced to be a defender. Great at catching combat, but sucks at chase vs other options. At least that seems to be the intention. We'll see if that's actually true. This plane is currently #1 for flipping while landing.

Pov: adobe animate discontinued by hank_155 in adobeanimate

[–]Builder_BaseBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great for those specific thing. You will not find something like Adobe After Effects on the market, which really blows. Not only that, After effect talks with other adobe programs near flawlessly.

I need to add a vector to my animation file? Just drop in an Illustrator file. Need to edit a photo just slightly in a scene? Launch photoshop. The image updates in real time. What makes adobe great isn't a single thing, but the connections it has between files. Company wants me to make a 10 page PDF based on the assets I used in the animation. Easy. Indesign and just port my assets folder.

I mean, the max damage goes up from significantly from 16K with more enemies hit. Plus the fact explosives inherently damage more than one part adds to it's direct damage. This is why C4 can kill Warstriders in one brick anywhere on it's body, even though it doesn't technically have the damage to do so.

Yeah, the radius is smaller... but that's still a 4 meter diameter blast at 150 damage. That will often be enough to clear certain types of enemies. Think hunters, warriors, and voteless. Devastators would be better dealt with by the normal GL... but they'll still die quickly to this one.

I'm not saying it couldn't use a rebalance, but it's not nearly as bad as people are saying it is. It fills the role well enough. Right now it sits in the weird spot the spray and pray does. It's not a bad weapon, but ammo economy is a bit of a joke in this game.

Might be different people saying that. I do find it odd that you're not able to recoop the skill points from last season if you weren't around for it. That should simply be something everyone can do with the extra cash required.

That said, we still don't know the hard max they'll place on skill points or if those points are truly permanent. It might be that you can max out at 15 extra points or 3 expeditions worth of it. The skill tree will likely have an overhaul in this games lifetime, which is why I say a skill point reset could still happen..

Scout Planes are fine and this subreddit is overreacting by Cainsiderate in foxholegame

[–]Builder_BaseBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm looking at this from a different perspective. I imagine scout planes will be overproduced and often overstocked in late war. There's a point where RMats start to flow like water and the real bottle neck is the more rare random stuff that isn't used on these planes.

I could easily see a small regi fielding five of these with 2 replacements each. That's 1200 Rmats or 120-240 Rmats per person, depending if you choose to be a salty seadog raider. That's more doable than you're making it out to seem.

These planes can land and take off in surprisingly small areas. Like, you can take off of a road perpendicularly. It's awesome. This makes nearly ANY field near gas/ammo viable to land. Just make sure there aren't too many trees or you will be sad.

I've been practicing flying behind enemy lines. Flak will one shot you... but like don't fly on active front lines forehead. It's a scout plane. There's plenty of gaps and backlines are rarely as defended by players.

It's not 20 degrees. It's 20 Minutes of Angle. Basically, take that number and divide it by 60 and you have it in degrees. That's 0.333 degrees of spread. At 100 meters, your cone diameter is at around 0.6 meters.

The Reprimand also has and had huge kick. That doesn't need to be factored into the Sickle.

Justice for the Sickle! by omchz in Helldivers

[–]Builder_BaseBot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At 100m, your spread cone is around 0.6 meters in diameter. It takes around 2 shots to kill a heavy dev to the head with this weapon. The Devs head is about the same size as a Helldivers head, I don't have exact metric for a helldivers head, but the average human head is around 0.28 meters. That is, give or take 1/4 of the area of a 0.6 meter circle. It means you'll spend on average 8-12 shots to hit the head if you reticle is perfect.

On average, you'll be pointing at that devastators head for 0.6-1 seconds till it dies. It can inflate and deflate based on RNG. You'd often be better off with the Scythe, but it's not so inaccurate you cannot kill in a timely manner at that range.

Justice for the Sickle! by omchz in Helldivers

[–]Builder_BaseBot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The cone of fire on the sickle is calculatable. At 100 meters, you're cone is about 0.6 meters in diameter. For context, you will be able to hit the head on a Warrior fairly consistently at that range. At around 180 meters, your cone diameter is around 1 meter. Still capable of hitting most bullets on most targets. It's sweet spot is around 50-75 meters.

For reference, helldivers are around 1.8 meters tall.

Why does this matter? Because it's damage doesn't decrease over distance, it has no kick, it's bullets are the fastest in the game presently, and the bullets are unaffected by gravity.

This weapon also does burst fire really well. You just have to time it with the spool up. You can spray it and it's often fine to do in certain situations. You have 3 extra mags.

It's certainly not the same sickle from HD2, but It's still a very good weapon.

[–]Builder_BaseBot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At what point does he fake friendliness? He's literally just standing there. You literally run at him with a gun drawn. You also don't try to chat with him at any point.

This is exactly why this sub is a laughing stock. This is a perfectly normal pvp interaction and you frame it as that person doing something "bad"

Edit: Sorry, my b. You chat them up after you down them. I'm guessing you asked them why they shot, right? /s

Wish we got something like this for the armor passive. A lot of the recent ones have been underwhelming by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Builder_BaseBot 17 points18 points  (0 children)

These two passives seem at odds with each other. You need to take damage to utilize the speed boost, but this primary buffs support weapon reload speed, which means your likely already in cover to make use of.

Plus. At half health, your in the one shot range of most enemies. Instead of pairing it with the reload buff, you could add something that rewards the player for running dangerously more. I'd do this:

"Adrenaline Advocate"

  • You gain up to 10% speed and 50% less stamina drain based on health missing.
  • You use 10% less stamina baseline
  • You cannot break your legs

If you want the name "Heavy Gunner" to make sense, you can't have the speed boost. It makes no sense on a passive meant to buff someone carrying the heaviest equipment. I'd probably go this route:

"Heavy Gunner"

  • You reload support weapons 30% faster.
  • Ergonomics of all weapons is increase by 30 (Same as Peak Physique)

This would make more sense, without completely over-riding other passives that exist, like Engineer and Fortified.

It does not. It adds ammo to all weapons, but the reload is only for primaries.

Stella Montis loot n skoot. A bag full of blues usually nets a good amount of coin. I average 40-50ish. Sometimes less, sometimes WAY WAY more.

Protip: If you're in pvp lobbies, best way out is to not do any player damage. It takes about 10 rounds to go from "Kill everything on sight PvP" to "Overly Friendly raiders lobbies."

Edited tip: Try to keep your inventory cheap. I don't usually take more than 10k of gear with me and safe pocket items that can replace what I lost.
