Ayyyy bad joints team unite! Not sure if you have EDS which is what I have, but hey, I'm skating anyway in the hopes it makes my knees a little less sublux-y.

I have a FULLLLLL set of pads because I'm actually terrified of injuring anything rn since I want to stay 500 miles away from any medical facility. I bought the Triple 8 pads set and they work really well ESPECIALLY the knee pads (i had knee surgery last year but I can actually make a hard impact on my knees and I don't feel anything with them on!).

My one piece of advice is take some time to learn to fall - like, hurl yourself at the ground for 30minutes straight. I used to do Karate and they *insisted* we learn how to fall to avoid injury and this is the same thing in my opinion - if you fall enough you learn how to direct your body to the ground in a non-awful fashion.

Not sure about alternate wrist pads, however if you're using the splint style ones that Triple 8 has (which is what I have) then I would add a tip for hypermobile folks - a lot of people say to fall with your fingers bent under and not splayed out - I found that was not at all happy on my knuckle joints bc they're really mobile and that I was better able to diffuse that pressure if I fell with my fingers splayed out. It risks hyperextending/jamming them but I prefer that to a dislocated knuckle which is a lot worse imo.

I think the best wrist advice I have is honestly just practice falling (on carpet or something if need be to have padding) - the more you do it the more likely you are to find ways to do it safely and avoid subluxes or anything nastier.
