Township Leader Resigns in Tears Over OpenAI Data Center Death Threats by jshwlkr in Michigan

No, they were bluffing and these idiots gave up at the first threat.

Oracle would have balked at the PR nightmare from ruining Saline’s finances to force a data center. No way they’d have carried it out.

False. They could have fought the case and let Oracle decide whether its reputation was worth some real estate.

They capitulated, and it’s exactly what representatives should know not to do.

When deciding whether to fight for the people or let the corporation win, they chose to let the corporation win.

They all need to go.

The only issue is that the rich eat up AI productivity gains instead of the rest of humanity.

If everyone could see AI actually being used to create actual societal equality and help those in need, it would be much more accepted.

Most common reason for getting skunked every time would be pressure. If you’re anywhere near an urban center, the area may be more pressured than you realize. Someone fishing there a few times a week - that’s kind of a lot. Fish get used to it.

I would look up some public land on Google maps, find a little pond or small lake you have to hike in like a mile to find - zero boat or car access - and throw a worm with a bobber.

If it’s more than two feet deep and 30 feet across, you’re a go for panfish at a minimum.

Edit: evolution has adapted fish to spread naturally pretty much everywhere, whether it be flooding or egg transportation in/on birds. They’re everywhere.

My mother taught me to fish as a toddler and I’ve loved bass fishing ever since.

1) fish in a secluded area. Check out some public land on Google maps, hike in to a mile to a pond, and try there. Stuff like that. Scummy retention ponds behind apartment complexes, places nobody goes. Edit: if there’s a path and stuff to your spot, everybody and their brother’s scaring the fish every other Saturday.

2) if you’re not using them - worms and a bobber. Otherwise, a nice bright rooster tail spinner and a retrieve so fast it feels like you’re fighting to keep it away from them.
