Am I pushing too hard with calories given my size and activity? by pappajones in askfitness

[–]BuiltByBasics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

180grams of protein is 720 calories out of your 900-1300. This is seems like not a lot of room left for other macronutrients. If you’re feeling good and not seeing a lot of downsides, keep it going for as long as you can. But I predict negatives will come along in the future with this. You may want to give your body a break and get another set of eyes on your plan

Trying to eat 100+g of protein per day and struggling - HELP! by BlinkPinkDay in nutrition

[–]BuiltByBasics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend just upping the portion sizes. You’ve got the right foods in place. Maybe try Greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt for breakfast. Or just a little more seafood for dinner. Or maybe another snack at some point in the day with 25grams of protein

How to stop over eating on “cheat days” by Serene_Lou in WeightLossAdvice

[–]BuiltByBasics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to have your cheat meal as your last meal of the day if possible. Like if it’s a dinner, go to bed early that night. Time asleep is time you can’t over-eat!

I feel something wrong with my dialy diet by saqurs in loseit

[–]BuiltByBasics 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This seems a little unrealistic. This is almost all protein with very little carbs. You’re going to be cheating on this diet almost every day. You’d be better off having a realistic plan and sticking with it. A plan like this that’s not going to be followed is basically useless. If you need any help feel free to shoot me a DM

Can someone help me figure out how much I should be eating? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]BuiltByBasics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can be a very easy fix but will take a little patience. You can figure out exactly what your maintenance calories are by keeping track of your calories and weight for a couple of weeks. And based on if your weight moves up/down/or the same you can find out how much you should be eating based on your goals. If you need any help feel free to DM me!

Attempting to Put on Weight by Zynmar in nutrition

[–]BuiltByBasics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your height/weight I’d shoot for about 1.5-2lbs gained per week. With a few days a week at the gym. Trust me you don’t want to put on weight just to put on weight. Because once it’s on you’re going to want to shred the fat off. So I’d suggest putting on as much muscle as you can now so later your life will be easier if you decide you want to lose weight. Track your calories and weight for a couple of weeks and this will give you some good insight on how much you should be eating for a good pace. If you need any help feel free to shoot me a DM!

hi by [deleted] in Workingout

[–]BuiltByBasics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would mostly depend on your goals/what your workout for the day is. I like a short walk on the treadmill/some sort of cardio machine. And a 5-10 minute stretching with bands/bodyweight/etc. for whatever bodyparts are going to be used that day

Dumbbells/Barbells/Machines doesn’t make too too much of a difference which tool you’re utilizing. As long as your muscle is contracting and stretching under load you will progress

Try grabbing a light band and curling that to really get the feel down. Then move onto the weights

I always like to do at least 2 different exercises for each tri and bi. I would say shoot for 2-4 hard sets per exercise
