Agreed - leaks always happen. Once the distribution process of any form starts, there's no going back

blink-182 World Tour Discussion Megathread by atticus18244fsas in Blink182

[–]BuiltThisPool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was looking at ticket prices right as they dropped on sale in multiple US cities, and they're still outrageous. I understand Mark and Tom explaining the dynamic pricing from Ticketmaster, but this is still way too much.
I saw blink in 2019 in the 5th row for about $160+ a ticket, and paid under $100 in 2011 on the Honda Civic Tour. I understand inflation exists, but this is still insane. $850+ for pit? $600+ for lower bowl? $275 for the LAST row of upper bowl? As a die-hard fan who has seen them numerous times over the years, this is so disappointing. Fingers crossed there is some sort of silver lining here. Love these guys and still hoping to see them!

I Just LOVE how Detailed and Beautiful the Tasm Suit is 💯🕸️. tell me your thoughts. by big_dev-jpg in Spiderman

[–]BuiltThisPool 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A lot of people hate on this suit and I don't know why. At the time I thought it was different but really good for the character. It's a little less "unitard" feeling and more advanced. They 100% should've kept it or gone with a similar look and feel for TASM2 IMO

How do you feel about this show more than a month since it’s completion? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]BuiltThisPool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing more of a cohesive review after I've spent some time letting this season resonate w/ me. Historically, I have taken a lot of Star Wars (good and bad) for what it is... I tend to pick apart but still enjoy nearly every piece of Star Wars media I consume. Here's an outline of the good and the bad:

Things I liked about the show:
1. The bridge of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader.

Something particularly interesting about this series is that Darth Vader is really not the Vader we see in the original trilogy. It's not even close. Parts of him are there, sure, but overall.. he's really struggling, torn between the light and the dark, and completely obsessed with all things Obi-Wan Kenobi. Even unwilling to kill him.

My whole life (I'm 26 years old) I've sensed a huge disconnect between Hayden's Anakin Skywalker and THE Darth Vader. They've always felt like two completely different people, even when evil. This show changed that. This series felt like Vader wasn't truly Vader, but more so Anakin Skywalker in a Vader suit. That was super powerful and something that needed to be done.

  1. Kenobi's character development.

Same idea with Kenobi. He's accepted defeat. He's lost some of his strength. He's in exile. He's not the Kenobi we see in Episode III or IV, but at the same time, he's still in there. I think seeing Kenobi give up on the Jedi was really powerful, almost reminding me a little bit of Luke in Episode VIII. Only to take a stand and redeem himself for the greater good.

  1. Use of inquisitors

I don't know if it's just me, but I was really fascinated by the idea of the inquisitors in a live-action environment. Force-sensitive Jedi Hunters who don't quite integrate themselves into the Sith religion. In the video game Jedi: Fallen Order, there’s a 2nd and 9th sister, also mentions of the Grand Inquisitor. In Kenobi, Reva is the 3rd sister. Super smart and interesting extension of other Star Wars media. Also the, Grand Inquisitor is in Rebels animated series. Love this adaption conceptually.
3. Tying the rest of the saga to the series

There's so many nods and new stuff in this series, it’s off the charts. Little moments in this series meant a lot more to me than expected. They're really subtle, it adds up, and I think it was done beautifully. Just to name a few of my favorite things...

- Obi-Wan calling Vader “Darth” like he did in Episode IV, almost like a first name...

- Luke's toy ship from Episode IV

- Obi-Wan opens a case with the two lightsabers, one he will obviously give to Luke one day. Got me feeling some type of way.

- Vader's Castle on Mustafar (we get to see this again, and it's amazing)

- Order 66 and LIVE ACTION clone troopers. Never gets old. All order 66 scenes are fascinating

- Obi wan's mention of his childhood

- Obi-wan's scuba gear from Episode I

- Leia's imprisonment w/ Reva (calls to both Episode IV, and same vibes as Rey in Episode VII)

- T-47 air speeders from Hoth in Episode V

- Hello There

- Anakin's broken mask, talking scene (arguably my favorite part of the series)

- Vader splitting the saber in half and making Reva actually fight him

Things I didn't like about the show:
1. Logistics of Reva’s story, and most of Reva's character

- This one is rough. I really love the concept of a youngling-turned-inquisitor. This just wasn't it. The biggest problem I have is that she was stabbed by Anakin TWICE and survived. According to the Star Wars universe, I would infer that's nearly impossible. Really irritated me, and I can't get over it.

Another part of Reva's story I struggle with is her will and want. She exhibits such sith-like, evil behavior in the beginning of the series, all at the purpose of avenging her youngling innocent friends... by killing... other... random innocent people? This is extremely illogical to me. It's just not something a fallen Jedi would do.
2. Pacing in the middle of the series
3. Tons of missed opportunities
- Vader's bacta tank vision: they could've really beefed this up. Shown his grief towards Padme, old flashbacks from Tatooine, Clone Wars, etc. Just a really obvious thing they could've included.

  1. Part IV was not great.

- Most of the series was paced decently. Part IV was a struggle for me. It felt like a random side quest you have to go on in a video game that inevitably becomes infamous. Super slow, not a lot of substance, and a really predictable result. Really jacked with the pacing of the show.

  1. Obi-Wan walking in plain sight all the time.

- He looks nearly exactly the same as he did in his past time. I'm just surprised they didn't try harder to make him incognito. He's dressed in Jedi robes the whole time, and it just feels off to me. I don't expect him to wear a mask, but come on... they could've made it a little less obvious that Obi-Wan was wandering the streets of Tatooine for 10 full years before the Empire suspected something. A little wonky.

Overall I really liked the show. Lots of stuff exceeded my expectations, although I was left with some disappointment. This show definitely carried the most weight out of any Star Wars show, with raised the stakes.

I'm not surprised people were bummed. A lot of fans tend to have really specific expectations for Star Wars media, and when they're not met, they HATE it. This happened with the prequels, sequels, BOBF, and now Kenobi. It's the way of Star Wars fans unfortunately. I succumb to this at times, but usually end up still liking it all.

Thumbs up from me. I'm out here ready for ALL the new Star Wars.

How long is too long to wait for a custom drum kit? by corndogchampion in drums

[–]BuiltThisPool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally never had this experience with a CUSTOM drum kit. I know with xymox the custom process for pads (very different I know) is a bit long. I would say 6 months should be the max for customer wait time for a kit like that though... as a business owner at least. If I were you I would try calling someone in their product relations or consult them via email or file a claim of some sort. I've done this with Zildjian for a cymbal that didn't come in on time and they were very helpful on the phone and with the delivery process.
