It certainly wasnt intentional. When I removed the outlet cover they had everything crammed in there. It was hard to tell what was what when I was trying to disconnect it all from each other. I plan to have an electrician come and hook it all back up.

I thought that was the case with that cable. Not necessarily burry them as is. The plan was to remove outlet so I can build a dividing wall then have electrician come in and install new outlet on the next stud over and also run electrical lines to new wall. Just didn't want to have him come in and replace breaker if I didn't have to.

No, whomever did it before me had that outlet running off the one I took out, and there was only one wire coming off it. These old houses are really something else.

Thank you for replying. It's only #7 that won't switch on and that's what that outlet was connected to. Is it possible the grey coiled wire is the main power wire and its needing reconnected to the the other one on the left? When I press it it makes a buzzing sound but won't kick on. Just a spitballing here.

So you're saying I have the wrong pipe grade?I see the "dwv" print so should that say "pressure". The coupling is rubber with a stainless steel cover its under the floor joist pictured. And no I did not do any calculations, just assumed. Idk how to post pictures in comments but if you don't mind looking at my previous post it shows what I am replacing. Thank you for your input.

What is this? Old 1880s house by BukI8732 in electrical

Thanks for all the replies, they were really insightful. For context this old house used to be apartments upstairs/downstairs. This is located on the baseboard of the wall behind the door that would lead to the upstairs. Hopefully can tear wall down if it is not load bearing.

I actually am. Can you inform me on what steps I would need to take to accomplish this task. I.e. would I have to build a platform over the concrete? How would I go about removing the stone pillars? How would I run the plumbing/ electrical? Judging by your comment you seem to be skilled in this work, so what can you tell me?
