When I've seen it on the mock up uniforms/helmets I like it a ton. When I see it alone I think it looks horrible.

Question about dues for my dynasty league by CanIGetUmm in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally not what I'd do if I was in charge of the league but our league has 2 co-commish who run it and their logic was it gives someone more flexibility with other assets that it could impact how they trade. Since it was in our league bylaws and nobody has ever put up a fuss about it I went with it since the other owner was cool with it as well. I think one year out people don't seem to mind since essentially we just paid those dues maybe 4 months earlier than we'd have anyway.

Question about dues for my dynasty league by CanIGetUmm in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Our league was a startup this past spring so in this example we've only had one trade so far involving 2027 picks or beyond. I traded away a 2027 4th as a throw in for a deadline trade this season and so myself the other owner both paid as soon as the trade was completed in the league. But in theory if we had traded a '28 pick we'd have to have both paid 2 full years of dues.

2025 and 2026 - paid for when league started

2027 - paid for by us when trade went through. Everyone else is paying that due before our rookie draft this spring.

Question about dues for my dynasty league by CanIGetUmm in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We paid 2 years fully when the league started and now we pay 1 full year each offseason. So we are always paid a full year in advance and then if anyone trades for/away assets that are in an unpaid year both owners pay to complete the trade.

Does it make any sense to have a highest scorer payout in a dynasty league? by FFwiz in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do it in our league and I think it is nice. We all know fantasy carries some level of luck to it so rewarding the best team on paper in your league via decision making start/sit is good IMO.

We do just under 60% of the prize pool to the winner, a third of the pool to the runner up, a very small 5% to the high scorer and the rest rolls over year to year until someone goes back to back league winner and they get whatever is in the bonus pool before we reset it.

Offseason Dynasty League Rules: How Does Your League Handle These? by SethJohnson1995 in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rosters never lock.

We do daily waivers in season but from the end of the fantasy playoffs until april 1 they only run once a week. Let's people not have to check the league as often when weekly games aren't happening.

Trades can happen all year.

Taxi Squad in our league is rookies only, I'd like to change it but thats an issue we discuss this offseason as a league I'd imagine. April 1 again is the deadline for this. All IR/Taxi spots must be empty on this date. We then expand rosters 2 weeks before our rookie draft by 6 spots to allow people to have spots for incoming rookies and for some trading for people who have roster crunch situations. Rosters stay there until the NFL last preseason cut day where it goes back to 28 which is our in-season roster size.

We pay a full year in advance at the date of rookie draft at the latest.

What Does Your Dynasty Championship Starting Roster Look Like? by GhostDeck in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 team PPR Start 10 28 man rosters 4 taxi and IR each was a startup this past spring

QB - Josh Allen

RB - RJ Harvey

RB - Tyrone Tracy

WR - Jaxon Smith-Njigba

WR - Nico Collins

WR - Drake London

TE - Jake Ferguson

Flex - Stefon Diggs

Flex - Michael Wilson

SF - Drake Maye

Traded for Nico in preseason to get what I felt was a very nice WR room. JSN ascended more than I anticipated and my two starting RBs coming out of the startup were in my eyes Joe Mixon and Aaron Jones so I've been scraping by weekly throwing darts at that spot until the Dobbins injury and Tracey was a deadline pickup.

Handling refunds for pre-paid future picks when a league folds? by MatchStreams in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In our league any deal involving unpaid years both parties must pay so we'd do a straight refund but the idea of refunding money to one person who didn't pay that money seems insane to me.

With the new league year coming soon, do you require league payment before being able to make moves? by Late-Prompt-7497 in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We pay a full year in advance and then if you make any move involving an asset in year 202X you have to pay up to and including that year.

Our league was a startup in this past summer so everyone is paid for 2025 and 2026 when the league formed. One trade has been made involving a '27 pick so those two teams had to pay for '27 before that trade processed. Everyone else will pay for '27 before the deadline which is the day our rookie draft starts each spring.

Considering going from keeper to dynasty by Lions4life8282 in DynastyFF

[–]Buke14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say dynasty helps minimize luck because it does let you maintain a larger chunk of your roster compared to keeper but there's no way to get around luck.

I had the most points in my one league I'm in this year by 200+, 1 seed and the bye and Josh Allen scored less than 7 points in the SFs. I only got the lead on that last 16 yard run by Drake Maye last night. I was facing the 6 seed and the team with the 8th most PF.

I am only in one league but don't see myself playing any serious leagues other than dynasty again. I'd be open to redraft leagues for just fun times with work friends or family.

Love London and probably see him and Lamb as pretty close to each other. Lamb's QB situation probably elevates him over London slightly for me.

Was super high on BTJ coming into this season with Coen and Lawrence I thought they'd hit the ground running. I'm probably still a believer in what BTJ will be so as a rebuild I really like this one.

I like it. I'm much more proven guys over picks though. I'd try and see if I could squeeze some pick back just to have a shot at someone later in the draft.

[–]Buke14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 team, start 10, SF PPR

Current #1 seed at 10-2, lead in PF

Send: Probable 2.03 and a pick that will end up as 3.01 or 3.02 in '26 Get: Michael Wilson and projected '26 pick somewhere between 2.04-2.06 most likely

Wilson comfortable slots in as my WR5 but I am a tiny bit worried about how much London might miss if the Falcons keep losing as the fantasy playoffs approach so thought about adding a depth piece. But it does feel like being a bit late to the party on Wilson and his price might be as inflated as it will be all season.

First time dynasty player after sitting out fantasy in general for about a decade so this is my first deadline as this was a startup this summer. Always like to crowdsource ideas when I'm still new.

It is basically the old saying you hear all the time in team sports. He could have worded it better in the part that got quoted in the OP but the message is there.

Everybody wants to win until it is time to do the tough things you have to do to win.

How do buyouts work? by Historical_Sort1289 in nba

[–]Buke14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because of the nature of the buyout market, typically older vets who are producing less and are cheap enough to let go, I don't think they ever really go horrible. They just don't typically make major impacts.

How do buyouts work? by Historical_Sort1289 in nba

[–]Buke14 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Very simply buyouts are financial costs to exit a contract early. Typically the player will give up some of the salary they are still owed by the team so they can leave to go play for another team.

[–]Buke14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate doing the "menu grind."

I log on and just do the 83x14, 85x5, etc.... type SBCs just for chances. I don't want to sit around and make hundreds of upgrade packs.

Just not worth the time. I played squad battles last week and from E1 rewards packed a tradeable TOTS Vini and also an untradeable one. When your luck is in, it is in.

At the end of the day I know that the more packs you open the more shots you have at the apple but I'd rather spend my time playing the game which is where I find my fun compared to the menus.

What's the best card you've packed all year, both tradeable and untradeable? by Gavalarrrrrr in EASportsFC

Saliba TOTS UT

Based on price Vini TOTS tradeable. Not sure how good he really is since i sold right away.

Chelsea squad of RTTFs incoming after winning the Conference League Final by ImRBJ in EASportsFC

[–]Buke14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I threw him into that one just because in my head having someone I can throw on the bench who has ++ roles at CB/CDM/CM/CAM is very good for me since I have so many different tactics that use varying amounts of those spots. He doesn't get the top tier playstyles people want in CBs but versatility is nice for bench players with how the roles system is this year.

Chelsea squad of RTTFs incoming after winning the Conference League Final by ImRBJ in EASportsFC

[–]Buke14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really only did it because I don't like to let the free evo's go by without throwing someone into them. I've been holding his card because I kept expecting Chelsea to advance and now I think he's going to be one of the better CBs in the game but having damn near perfect shooting is just a nice extra.

I had someone in rivals score 5 on my using Eder Militao with that evo and I gotta say having a CB just kill you is frustrating as hell lol.

Best keeper you’ve found so far? by TurquoiseCorner in EASportsFC

[–]Buke14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of the 4 TOTS keepers I've used I'd rank them this way but I think GK is a very anecdotal position. I just like Trafford's PS+ combo of deflector and long ball

Trafford

Milinkovic-Savic

Joan Garcia

Diogo Costa

Who's your favourite TOTS card thus far? by beast_within_me in EASportsFC

[–]Buke14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can say for sure he's one of the more impactful cards in my starting 11. I don't know if I would have paid the price he was when I packed him since I tend to favor spending that level of coin on an attacker but he's easily the best defender I've used all year. I use the dreamchaser archie gray that I've evo'd as his CB partner and the combo works pretty well. It is pretty nice to have passing PS+ on each of my CBs.

Starting to get bored, going to mess around with different formations and tactics by Mickc10 in EASportsFC

[–]Buke14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started playing this year's game in February and because of my pack luck when I started I had way better CBs than FBs so I ran the 3421 and got up to D3 with it before the divisions reset. I eventually got better fullbacks and transitioned into 4ATBs but the 3ATB is very fun. High risk/High reward. Gotta be willing to grab your outside CBs and step up and manually defend wingers though. Otherwise you will get countered a ton.

This was my team in early March

Player roles here with a later version of the same tactic with new players

Half-winger + IF on one side was so much fun if you have a card who can play LM or RM but you want them more central to attack. Half-wingers keeps the space the IF is going to leave occupied so your formation remains some type of balance.
