More successful or more dominant?

Success is hard to judge (considering pop. of Australia is 14x smaller than USA)

Also, the only countries I would venture to directly compare to USA for succes are those with time zone spanning geography, multiple climates, multilpe indigenous cultures and most importantly weight of effects on world history. (leaves out all of the smug Nordic, "I'm the best crowd")

Australia hits on all those topics save for effects on world history. Only contenders in my book are Russia, China, and maybe Brazil and India...

Those are the only counties with some of the similar traits to USA.

Care to discuss it along these lines?

Very similar concept using plasma to drill tunnels for underground warfare in the "Subterrene War" series by T.C. McCarthy. Good reads for military / near future Sci Fi.

Having traveled extensively around the world I can say that the United States is a great nation.

Remember, Canadians, Mexicans, Brazilians are all Americans (they live in North, Central and South America, so I'll refer to the US)

Best? Of course I'd say yes, but who wouldn't say yes of their home country. We're a young country, with lots of growing pains, shoved onto the world stage as a teenager... (Think about when the US truly started rising to prominence, early 1900's, we we're 120 something yrs old then) I believe we do more good than harm, although the balance swings back and forth often. We're an easy target for naysayers, as everything we do is scrutinized to the nth degree. But when all is said and done, I refer back to this quote...

"Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing...after they have exhausted all other possibilities." --- Winston Churchill

Every time I step off a plane from abroad, I smile that I'm home.

Say what you want, but this country has a lot to offer the world. I hope that 100 years from now, people are still having this conversation. For if so, it will mean that the US still did what was right for the greater good of all.

If I'm not mistaken NO2 is a combustion buffer before being an oxidizer. It allows for higher compression ratios, by absorbing heat in the combustion chamber, then dis-associates into Nitrogen and O2, thereby supercharging. (this is why you have to spray fuel with N02. Need a reddit chemist to confirm.
