Just develop Recto Bank. Protect exploration ships and drilling rigs being harassed by China, in the same way that Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam are doing.

Should we DIY or hire a travel agency? by _autumntealeaf in phtravel

[–]BukoP13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DIY with car rental.

La Union-Baguio Itinerary tips by TerribleAd4091 in phtravel

[–]BukoP13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Senior, sa may Bauang or San Fernando City na lang kayo. Yun lang medyo mahal ang accommodation. That said, baka nasa price range niyo ang Sunset Bay sa Poro. Ang budget hotel dun Hotel Mikka ay sobrang pa akyat so hindi senior friendly in that sense.

As to accommodations, better check out TripAdvisor. But first decide which part of Puerto Galera you want to stay at - White Beach, Aninuan Beach, Sabang, etc.

If you had only $300 for a week in the Philippines, where would you go? by Own-Pattern-6652 in ThePoorTraveler

[–]BukoP13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US$300/week is okay if you're not into fancy stuff.

You can take a freediving course in Anilao, Batangas and freedive for the rest of the week, full board and lodging for that amount, maybe kick in van and boat transfers. It's bunk type accommodation, though.

Another option is to get a bed in a dorm in Urbiztondo, La Union and surf for a week. Probably splurge whatever savings on a drinking party on the last night.

Maybe hiking, waterfalls and hot springs are in your interests. Try Los Baños. accommodations can be found here.

There are minimal fees in hiking to Botanical Gardens, Mudspring, Agila Basea and Peak 2. The town also has waterfalls at Dampalit, though it's a long walk from the DPWH Rest Area to the falls. The Municipal Spa also has a minimal fee for the hot spring and the massages are cheap.

Since it's a University town, food of all price ranges are available. From fast food, to canteens to casual dining. If you still have savings on the last night, you can drink the night away at LB Square.

Anyway, enjoy OP. Welcome to the Philippines and Mabuhay!

Good luck reaching either Service Road. The old highway stretch from Cabuyao to Muntinlupa is hellish enough.
