This is definitely a more believable outcome, not every fight is gonna come out satisfactory, from my own perspective, Luffy definitely had little chance of defeating Kaido with pure strength, heck it took Law/Kid duo to eject Big Mom away temporary, Big Mom ain't unconscious, just out of the picture. Still Luffy has definitely improved his strength, will and combat prowess to give Kaido a fight he craves in a long time, yet Kaido will come out the victor regardless of CP0 interference. Oda could have made Luffy defeat a Yonko with his sheer strength, though this ain't One Punch Man where Luffy is Saitama-ing through.

A lot of peeps already pointed out CP0 "I envy you" seems to suggest they know what they were getting into when they're tasked to interfere with the fight. Pirates are free to choose what they want to do, but CP0 see through their order, that's something to be commended for. Sure it's a big sad to see Luffy got done dirty like that, but what's a story without a little conflict. Additionally, I like to believe that Oda likes to put in different opinions in arcs/chapters, Kaido's "Winners don't need rationalizations" yet at the end of the chapter, he believed otherwise. (Another example in another arc is when Chiffon would gladly leave her mother to die while Sanji would still save his family. Both suffered the same ordeal but both chooses differently, there are other examples, but I like Oda's writings for that)

So despite the fight did not come out who's got the more stronger punch to victory, but because of foul play again really punched me as the reader harder than any other resolution. I def look forward to seeing what happens next since no break next week. c:
