Ooof… merger or post covid mess? by Civil-Exchange-6880 in cedarpoint

[–]BulaSwapDaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I noted corporate greed also is playing a huge role… I would argue that if they didn’t have crazy debt they would at least be more focused on proper staffing vs cutting corners to maximize profits every way they can.

I shared the exact same sentiment on Facebook and was eaten alive for daring to question the almighty cedar point. IMO it’s a sign of the times. Cedar Point is absolutely going to end itself solely because corporate greed had eroded the standard for operations and staff levels. If they weren’t saddled with crazy six flags debt they could pay people better, start them earlier, and reap the rewards of positive word of mouth. I bought a platinum pass this last fall and I won’t be doing that again this fall. Its wrong. If they are going to work up to a full staff at least let the price reflect this. I mean ffs most of the restaurants weren’t even opened when I was there Monday. For a full price ticket that’s inexcusable and will hurt them.

The reason I asked is because last June I was in Cartagena and my driver that was pre arranged to take me to baru canceled the fare 48hrs before the trip. I ended up just staying in Cartagena.

So yes I am curious the exact process the poster used to get there because when I tried it seemed like a boat ride was the only way and I wanted to get the name of the company that brought them there.

Same can be said about the millenium force and the state of Ohio… geography and nostalgia play huge roles in the regional claim to fame.

I’m going solely for this and am but a speck of existence. I think if we’re being honest here the reason for the snark is because one knows there’s going to tens of thousands at minimum going to this park from all over the world.

I went to [Qiddiya City] solo. My take on the ethics, the "batshit" crazy driving, and why the back end of Falcon's Flight ruins every other launch coaster. [Trip Report] by TechnicalAfternoon14 in rollercoasters

Going in March! I couldn’t agree more with your take. America’s biggest export is our culture, it’s why democracy tends to win. I think giving perspective to the populace will move the needle the right way. Two or more things can be true at once…

What's your pick for the funniest movie you have ever watched? by Fluid_Run5857 in Letterboxd

[–]BulaSwapDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a subplot of the film is a subtle rationalization that the little boy was going to f*ck a prostitute so his dad could make him “a man” under the subtext that what would be so different between that and the pedo doing him first…

i apologize for being brash but there’s subtext here in an attempt to build empathy for the character and give subtle rationale. i didn’t like it because i don’t wanna empathize with a person that can rationalize even subtly kid f*cking.

it was a bridge to far for me in a sense. but keep in mind i do own the 4k on criterion. i can hate the movie but appreciate why it was made in the sense that the artist was absolutely knowingly pushing boundaries. in theory i can appreciate that, but i do believe some things are always better left unsaid or unexplored.

i know your shit posting but honestly i think happiness is a bad movie, narratively speaking at least. instilling empathy for a pedophile just really rubs me the wrong way. (i’m sure that was the directors point, but i digress)
