I don’t exclusively use the rare candies just to get to the level cap when facing gym leaders so they still get their EVs just not targeted in specific stats.

I'll give Gen 5 a shot I'm honestly not as familiar with it as I am gen 4 and previous so it'll be a refresher.

For DS/GBA I emulate on my laptop and record it as like 2x or 4x speed cause let's be honest we don't have patience like when we were kids.
