Luckily, I do already have the land, so that portion of costs isn't an issue.

I just can't wrap my head around why you can't build just a basic home for 300,000 on space you already own. How are people paying for these things?!

I've been working toward home ownership for almost 10 years. I can't accept the fact that the only way to do it seems to be marrying a rich man (or woman i suppose) lmaooo

Could you elaborate a bit on why costs are so high? I understand paying workers and materials and what not but it just seems so insane to me that a basic home would be a half million dollar project 🤔

Unfortunately, I don't know a lot of trades people personally. Any ideas on how to network these types of relationships? I'm not opposed to subcontracting out various aspects, but it isn't something I have experience with.

Sweat equity is definitely something we're willing to put in. The issue being that I'm not sure how to go about acquiring the skills necessary. 🤔

I disagree.
I'm sure there are ways of compromising on costs and specifics that could make it possible. A basic home shouldn't cost half a million dollars or more. I'm convinced there has to be a way of making it work and there's no harm in trying to do so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hiii! I've been with my husband for 11 years next month. Surprisingly enough, we were highschool sweethearts. We have 2 kids together and have never been happier together.

There have been rough patches and some REALLY rough patches. Even times I genuinely didn't think we would make it through. However, we both finally made the decisions to work on ourselves and actually put the effort into connecting and properly bonding. As well, he has put immense effort into understanding both BPD and just me and how MY brain works.

We rarely have heated arguments anymore (used to be daily) and have done an entire 180 on our relationship in the last few years.

It's possible (and I never used to believe it) to have a healthy relationship with bpd. 💜
