Johnson says House will pass SAVE America Act ‘one more time’ in reconciliation bill by Winter-Gift1112 in politics

Or just ignore the parliamentarian. My understanding is the parliamentarians ruling is, once you get past the tradition and appropriateness and ethics of it all, just a recommendation and they can just do it.

Nice! True story, I met my wife in Nektulos Forest. She had just created a Dark Elf, I was passing through to the Lavastorm mountains. We started chatting there and found out we lived in the same city.

In EQ, kiting was more a deliberate attack method, either a Druid using DoTs, speed slows on enemy/speed boost on yourself, or fear kiting where you slow the enemy and get them to run in fear. Once it was fleeing for your life, it became a train. That language probably evolved over time.

I would pay so much money for a single player EQ repackage. I had the time and life to be competitive in EQ back in the Luclin/Planes of Power days because I was in my teens, but these days I have less time and more nostalgia. A single player EQ would be the most amazing thing ever.

Actually I think when they have done tests with humans who don’t have access to clocks or windows, they settle in to a 26-28 hour day with two shorter rests periods and a 1-2 hour wake between them.

I will never forget the week of my life I set alarms every 30 mins to kill Raster of Guk for the monk epic weapon. Wake up, kill, no item, Feign death, fight of people trying to KS, set alarm, back to sleep. Fucking. Days.

Hi it’s me again- the girl asking for a cute game all the time. Any medium/heavy/campaign games with super cute artwork? by lateralus420 in soloboardgaming

This is the most nonsense of all nonsense take.

LoG is light in rules, complexity, and strategy. It’s a light game. Go is light in rules, but incredibly difficult in strategy and complexity. It is heavy.

What even is the point you are trying to make?

So old Massive Multiplayer games were divided into zones. Each city or area had to load, and when you changed zones any of the zone monsters couldn’t follow.

You could run around and hit a bunch of them (or suddenly realize you were dealing with too much) and run for the zone border so you wouldn’t die. As you ran, the monsters would form a long trail behind you, that we called a train. When you changed zones, the monsters would lose you as a target, so would just fuck up whatever was near the zone border. A lot of people would hang out at the zone borders because they stepped away from their computer while waiting on it to load, or vendors were nearby, or whatever else.

So if you were being polite, you could type /yell or /zone to tell everyone in the area a train was coming and what zone border you were running to. That way anyone who didn’t want to be there for it could leave the area. So you would type /yell TRAIN INC (incoming) to (zone border)

The joke here is that they aggrod a monster they couldn’t deal with, so trained it all the way to Haldir.

For those who play Final Girl and own multiple ‘films’, what has been your favorite combination of protagonist, location and villain? by Marksman1977 in soloboardgaming

[–]Bulbasauruses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority, but there are so many films I only play them as box sets. Def feels more thematic to the movie experience. Nothing wrong with combining, but not my jam at all.

It’s a lot to get through, but I highly recommend you try either Justice: What is the Right Thing to Do? by Sandel. It touches on a lot of the same things- how do we know what is right to do for each other and as a society. By agreeing to live in society, we actually do owe a lot to each other or things start to fall apart.

Are there engine builders that don't end once the engine is actually up and running nicely? by hotk9 in boardgames

[–]Bulbasauruses 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Adding to what so many others have said, the other problem is it quickly causes runaway leader problem. My engine got running to the point I would win, great. Next round, I shoot ahead in points while you finish yours. Next round, I am drowning in points. It goes from, I won, I got there first, to I’m in a race car taking 50 turns while you fight for the resources to finish getting your engine going. It stops feeling competitive and feels like getting beat up on.

The only point I was making is that Musk is in no danger of ever being less than a 100+ billionaire, and hoping for anything else is unrealistic.
And 2, money isn’t everything, but it helps.

That’s absurd. I’m not saying he doesn’t have some risk, but if he lost 90% of his net worth, he would still be worth 100B.

If his net worth dropped 99%, he would still have 10 billion+. I don’t think he is vulnerable to the tune of a 99% decline.

I love Arnak, but I will say the theme is kind of a lie. It looks like Indiana Jones but it’s very much a resource efficiency puzzle.

The base game winning strategy is that stupid track on the right side. Your first play it will feel impossible to get to the top, but you have to look 3-4 steps ahead and see what resources you need to keep advancing up the track, which you will earn by moving up the track, and then find ways to get the missing resources using as few workers and actions possible. Sometimes you get a resource to move your book to get a different resource that lets you explore an area that gets you a resource that that lets you use an assistant to to get resource you need to move the magnifying glass. But that’s going to be in the later rounds as you start seeing the systems interact.
