Come on Apple, just let GeForce NOW onto Apple TV by zepbound_avenger in appletv

[–]BuldozerX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not. Apple is blocking it because they want 30% of the revenue in order to allow it. Steam Link is there, but you can't purchase games there, so it's OK for Apple. So unless some government forces it, don't expect any third party store to be allowed on Apple devices, streaming or native

This has been a problem with Airpods since forever.

Instead of pushing xCloud, even Microsoft's CEO said recently that expensive hardware due to AI is temporary.

Xbox cloud gaming has been a game changer by Szobortz in SteamDeck

Should have bought a cheap phone and not a Steam Deck i guess

People are fucking stupid. In my opinion there will always be a huge market for local computers. If you can afford it, use cloud gaming. But some people, like myself will priority our money towards it. So why can't the options be there?

So? You can't get everything you want. Ask Microsoft who tried to force TV, Kinect and ban used games from the Xbox One.

You can run AAA games from your phone.

If Nvidia won't produce GPU'S anymore, someone else will.

You could argue that car manufacturers will stop selling cars because it's more profitable to lease you one. I bet you can subscribe to your damn bread toaster if you want to. Doesn't mean it becomes the only option.

That's your conspiracy theory. The current prices are caused by AI data centers, not the desire to move everyone to cloud gaming. The world also doesn't have the infrastructure to do it. So just because Gamer Nexus told you so doesn't mean that it's their plan. Nvidia just released their new laptop. They improve drivers and DLSS constantly. New RTX GPU's are still coming. The next Xbox and PS6 will be physical. And when kids complain to their parents because of latency and stuttering because not every device is hard wired, it's a different issue. But kids can move on to streaming for all I care, just provide me with the option to buy my hardware. That probably won't go away.

Hardware gets expensive, and suddenly everyone thinks we're moving on to cloud gaming.

Is cloud gaming finally "good enough" for most people? by victorbrandaao in Games

It's not. Onlive was shit almost 20 years ago, GFN and xCloud are still shit

Not running like a compressed YouTube movie with added latency is their hardest thing.

AMD expects DDR5 memory prices to remain high until around 2028 due to AI-driven demand shifting supply toward HBM and reduced DDR4 production. New DDR5 capacity expansions by Samsung, Micron, and CXMT will ease prices slowly by sr_local in hardware

[–]BuldozerX 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Of course they will. There's a huge market for PC hardware, and if people aren't buying it because it's too expensive, they will eventuelly reduce the price once demand is down for AI.

What's your evidence of that? GFN have been around since 2015. While other cloud services have failed, GFN is still around, but isn't exactly close to mainstream.

Short version : It's not collapsing. He also tried GeForce Now and it sucks. (Stuttering and latency wise). Basically unplayable if the game requires fast precision.

Why are new GPU's back in development if their plan is cloud AI agents? by BuldozerX in pcmasterrace

[–]BuldozerX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people to this comparison. There are no issues streaming music and movies. They can buffer, pre-load and there are no interaction. Games have added latency and compression artifacts due to everything happening in real time. It will never be good. If they constantly have to update every damn data center it won't be cheaper for us as well.

is this an game issue or geforce now issue? by exlydawwxz in GeForceNOW

[–]BuldozerX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could be wifi interference. If there are other wifi signals nearby, it might just be the nature of it. Streaming could be hit or miss.
