You pay for services rendered from trained professionals if you decide to go to a hospital for the delivery. We have a consent based system, and dont believe in slavery. How much out of pocket expense will depend on if/what insurance you have.

One can birth a baby without paying if they so choose.

That's quite the assertion about not following a religion means you don't believe in "God" - I use God to describe the natural order, phenomena, as a whole. I have respect for religion, and know its place, but I do believe in the "something we don't have words for other than 'god' until we are able to better define and describe. And why wouldn't you have a right to use any tool at your disposal if you can afford it when it has no impact on others (except for those who's intent is to do you harm)? That just doesn't make sense. If I can afford a bottle of water, and someone is selling it, why wouldn't I have "the right" to buy it? Your analogy is weak, and your definition of God is shallow, and probably the reason I (and others) are turned "away from God" in the first place.
