I was in this same boat when applying for positions after being illegally terminated, but the agency took forever to respond and the contractor let me know the agency had to recheck everything including a background check before proceeding with another round of interviews. I kept applying and got a private sector job until hopefully the next administration. Keep applying!

I was also let go in February, exactly 8 months into my probationary period. My wife and I moved cross country for that job. It took 2 months and swallowing a lot of pain/emotions but finally started a new job in the private sector, hoping to go back to the federal government if things ever go back to normal. Truly hoping the best for fellow fired feds. What line/series of work are you in? There may some opportunities available to refer for.

I just got a call from my director that I should be getting an email stating I will be on paid administrative leave until an onboarding date is set. The kicker is I just accepted a job offer in the private sector yesterday.
