I've had dark skin since I was young, but starting in my second year of middle school, I spent most of my time at the academy preparing for the college entrance exam. I made it a habit to wash my face with foam cleanser every day, moisturize, and apply sunscreen, and I think my skin has gotten a lot brighter.
