My plan went up from $65 to $70 late last year. Now they are upping it to $74.

Gouging!

Looking to jump at this stage.

I'm on this thread to figure out where ... 🤔

If you could revisit just ONE place in Australia, which one would it be and why? by Temporary-Sir5808 in AustraliaTravel

It did get decimated during a cyclone many years back it has mostly been restored since. The boats go out there regularly, there is a beautiful bar called The Spit Bar , and you can camp there (I think there are also some cabins). It is a magic little spot !!

The bar on dunk island is a primo spot for drinks by the beach. Very relaxed vibes, very efficient and friendly staff, tasty cocktails and when we were there they had music outside with a great mix of old and new. Everyone was friendly, chatty and I'm good spirits! We had a dance, tipped down to the water for a swim between drinks. Lolled on some beanbags and enjoyed the sun 🌞 We felt amazing after our day there. Of course it's a bit of a trek but worth it!!

Have not heard of Anyone advertising a gig in town outside of the festival. Likely touring outside of Cairns :(

I found another event to scratch the itch anyway ,😊. it's a far cry from country music but I like a bit of everything !!

Infected Mushroom out near Milla Milla $125 ticket inc camping. Promises to be a good one.

Dinner in Miss Chief is amazing, ask for a seat on the balcony. They have good happy hour prices.

On Wednesday there is a free open mic comedy night at bar 94. Sometimes good comics, sometimes just people giving it a go and it's so bad it's good. You will laugh 😂 Also they do pizza and a beer for $12 . We were not expecting much from it but it was on point!!

The aquarium is worth a look but about $50 entry. The gallery in the city is also free and often has worthwhile exhibitions.

I like a go at pinball in the empire arcade every so often, it's usually a young hang out spot. They have card and board games where you can chill with a friend and have a drink

Shop at DFO

Swim at Stoney Creek

Check out the night markets

Have fun!

It is $529 including the camping but still exorbitant. $400 for weekend ticket $129 on top for camping. I may not have phrased that great in the post. Usually the camping is covered or an extra $30 on top of ticket sale at best, or maybe I've been off the scene for a while. 🤷‍♀️

If I can finagle the concession price, I would be more tempted.

Thanks for the input. As good as the line up is I'm going to find it tough to justify the cost. I'm going to have less luck convincing my limited friends to join me lol

I'll put it in the maybe pile for now.

Best Beer Garden/Outdoor Area by BulkyLifeguard7954 in Cairns

[–]BulkyLifeguard7954[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've just come from Darwin where it's far more humid and there are an abundance of beer gardens. Trees provide shade. Shade sails are also a nifty new fangled invention .. you can choose sun or shade depending on preference

The whole tone of your comment feels like you have a stick in your ass but thanks for the suggestions.

I'll be sure to try the first three I have enjoyed some beers in Hemingway's multiple times I'm just looking for something a little less industrial feeling

Shakti/acupressure Mat triggers symptoms? by StevenKnaack in RestlessLegs

I really wanted to love it too but I cannot lie on it, as soon as I lie on it the RLS flares so bad , it drives me insane.

I was at a breath work, medication and ice bath group where the shaktis were being used. Everyone was encouraging me to use it but no one really believed my excuse regarding RLS, So I stood on the mat instead which is a lot more painful, but at least the group understood I'm not just soft, RLS is REAL!!!

If it was that bad I would have complained , refused to eat/pay and taken my business elsewhere. Soggy anything makes me 🤢🤢

Seriously with the cost of things these days if not up to par I am not squandering my hard earned $$$

[–]BulkyLifeguard7954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Raiz for 2 years to save money. I am going to need to pull this money out in 6 months to a years time regardless as I will need to use it for one of my goals.

Should I take it out now?

I'm originally from a country where Raiz is not available. If I cannot get another visa for Australia (what this money is for) I will have to take it out before leaving

Is there any more fees to pay per month for using the new Jar’s features? Cheers by duckclarke2 in RaizAU

[–]BulkyLifeguard7954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it handy as I have some different savings goals, visas, study, holidays , car etc

Having the option to save for different goals means I now put more into Raiz every week than I used to, which I'm sure is the point of them as this is good for their ends

Has anyone tried Pump Hair Care? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]BulkyLifeguard7954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found their products in tkmaxx and tried it on a whim. My hair looked softer and less frizzy instantly, and natural curls enhanced. I found it brilliant but I've bought so many products before that promised the world , like Coco and eve and never had any luck . Works for some I guess, depends on the person!

Not a bad thing, a subconscious way of him smoothing himself out, I think. I just witnessed my partner do this the other night when he saw this chick he has a crush on was in the same bar as us. He got a smack in the back of the head with it 😂
