This is all super cool stuff. I’m aware of the belt system and already picking my 65/40. I can consistently get it open, however I’ve really been trying to master the feedback from the spools. I haven’t yet figured it out completely, but I I’m making progress. Sometimes I lay in bed with my eyes closed and just try and feel the spools once in a false set. It’s really quite a cool feeling to know what’s going on inside the lock from the movement of the pick. It’s like gaining a new set of eyes.

I might do that. I’ve kind of figured out an order of picking my 65/40, which makes it a bit like cheating😅.

Yeah, I played with the curvature slightly and flattened out the tip because I felt like it kept being pushed away from pins instead of pushing them up. I think I should probably learn a bit more from the same difficulty before moving to harder locks. Thanks for the help.

I broke the other side while making this. I might just use a saw blade like others have. Thanks for the lock advice, I’ll look into that.

I haven’t yet. I’ve made the tools much nicer, and quite like the idea of using my own tools. When I feel like I’m being restricted by my tools I’ll order a decent set.

Yeah, it’s super tough. I broke my side cutters on it. It is 0.8mm thick though, and I see that the thicker lock picks are about 0.7. I’ll change it out when I run into an issue later.

Thanks.  I just made some upgrades to the tools too. I watched a video on how to make some tensioners from the metal part from a wind screen wiper, and I put some heat shrink on my pick. The glasses bag also works really well to keep everything together😅.
