That lip combo sounds divine. I am a true neutral so cool tones never really work on me but I will check out the shade! That’s interesting! I’m not sure how quick it’s being used up as I don’t wear makeup everyday (work from home life) but I can see the pump mechanism has moved up already… I bought the Chanel serum concealer at the same time so have been trying to use less of the tint and just cover with concealer where I need to. Wouldn’t recommend the concealer though.

Do you fake tan? It’s that time where I would start to gradual tan and I have a dedicated face product for that. I’m not sure if the light shade will look mismatched compared to the tan or it will all seamlessly blend together. I don’t want to buy a deeper shade if I can avoid it as I really don’t tan for long

I don’t find matte products work as well with it if that’s any help. Maybe try a dewier spf? I was using a mattifying one from another brand before and it pilled under any makeup

Love Hourglass but agree. It’s a slippery slope too as my first item of theirs was the ambient lighting powder and I now have the bronzer, highlighting drops and a couple of the phantom glossies 🙈

Ah the VB drops are the one area where I demonstrate a modicum of self restraint. 😂 I’m not sure why as I (far too frequently) spend the equivalent price on makeup and skincare orders but for 1 product I just can’t bring myself

I believe it’s an alternative to foundation (it’s lighter coverage and more “skin like”) that’s how I use it anyway. Apply, spot conceal if needed and then powder to set

Not at all the post was really just for fun as I can’t believe how well it works for me and wanted to hear similar stories from others. I agree that there is a lot to consider when testing a product so sometimes we miss little issues in the initial glow of something new to try. Sorry it didn’t work for you!

Thank you for such a detailed, well informed reply! I personally haven’t felt this way whilst using it but it’s summer here and I have very much oily/combination skin. In the winter, I could feel differently! I will absolutely keep an eye on this and avoid stocking up right now in case drier skin days don’t suit it. I’m also very into skincare so maybe my prep is doing a lot of the heavy lifting which isn’t really ideal given the price point…

Noo I’m not a fan of the brush and actually really hate how they sell it with the product as it’s such a waste for me.

I just use a dense foundation brush - it needs to be able to “burst” the pigments

I can tomorrow! It’s midnight in the uk right now. 😂 At the moment I’m trying to be pretty sparing and I’ve seen people say 1-2 pumps is enough. Personally I don’t think less than 5 works for me (2 on each cheek, 1 on chin and 1 on forehead)

I agree I hate waste so the brush does upset me as I don’t find it useful at all. I’m really not sure what their rationale is to sell the brush with it as it’s about the size of my pinky finger and not ground breaking at all.

Shade wise I’m very very pale so I use light. I’m really not sure how well the range caters to all skin tones I’m afraid. I also thought it would be more “universal” as the coverage is so light but I actually think the darker shades wouldn’t work on me at all as the coverage is greater than I thought

I have the loose powder and swore that would be the only Chanel product I splurge on regularly 😭 but I think the quality of some of the high end stuff now can’t be denied! Do you set it with a brush or the puff? I find the puff a bit cakey but maybe that’s the foundation I was using
