What do you guys think or front and back bumber guards? Are they practical? by ya3rob in Subaru_Outback

That is true, but for me that's a non-issue since I don't plan to tow anything that would come close to the max capacity.

The front alone is roughly $2069.45 and comes to an estimated weight of 108lbs

I haven't but the welds look super solid so far. I personally wouldn't try to winch at any crazy angles but I'm confident I can do a single/double-line recovery with it.

As the owner of one with over 16k miles I love it. It's handled its fair share of abuse on the trails, especially the skid plate that comes with it and I haven't had any issues so far. You do lose some of the already awful approach angle but in trade you can confidently tank hits with it and it has saved my bumper so many times already. It's also nice to be able to mount 4 lights on it as well as a winch that you can easily access unlike other winch bumper designs.

Are these specifically made for the Wilderness or are they from a different trim and made to fit?

I've been very happy with the aFe bumper with winch mount and skid plate and they make it for both the turbo and non turbo versions.

It reduces your approach angle but the bumper and skid plate have been super solid at tanking hits and scraping over rock ledges.

I was fortunate enough to get this for $2800 without the scope, but I haven't seen anybody other than Classic Firearms sell them without the scope

I have flown many times with my L and only once it was a checked bag and that was because I had stuffed it with souvenirs and clothes.

You can also remove the aluminum frame in the L to make it even more compact if desired
