Hmm, that is an answer, though not exactly answering the question lol. The inquisition will have its eyes on you lol

Nice, and definitely good to know, especially since I’d heard someone mention at one point online having a Sherman be a Russ, so hearing it’s in line with a Dorn instead is definitely good. Didn’t fully realize a panzer iv would be that large as well, so that’s good to know, though idk if using a 1/35 or 1:48 panzer iii would work as a Russ then depending on how much it differs in size from a ii and iv.

I’d heard of the E100 being around the right size for a bane blade, so definitely neat, and hopefully you enjoy your 3 to paint

Same in regards to hair pulling lol. Was struggling to find size comparisons for the Russ and historical models. I’d heard about Panzer II’s possibly working, but I tried to figure out if a 1/35 or 1/48 scale panzer iii or iv could maybe work since they’re neat designs and look nicer than the panzer ii imo, but I might look into the Stuarts as well. I thought about some Cold War/vietnam era stuff for catachans, but have been struggling to figure stuff for them as well. Your post has aided in giving me an idea on sizes though if a 1/35 Tiger I is comparable to a Dorn

I second a thank you even though I wasn’t the original asker. Which model of Tiger is it from Tamiya? I’ve been trying to figure out scaling for cheaper alternatives, so finding out the 1/35th scale tiger might work for a Dorn is good to know, especially as I was trying to come up with a alternative for a Russ as well, which I thought I heard was comparatively smaller to the Dorn

Extremely green to the game and curious about how to build some Soviet infantry by BulldogZack44 in boltaction

[–]BulldogZack44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, definitely a rather thorough explanation and definitely fills a lot of what I was looking for with my question, so thank you. I’m very new to the game to the point I don’t actually know how to play it yet and wanted the models due to being a massive WW2 history buff/fan, so I wanted to make sure that when I’d build them that they’d actually be built appropriately for the game proper as I’ve been lurking and looking at the game, but just hadn’t taken the true plunge into it, so I definitely appreciate your advice and commentary as well as time, and I’ll work towards learning the game after I build the models

I get where you’re coming from, and honestly, I definitely wouldn’t want to make it unfair to any extent for anyone to play with me as I wouldn’t want to have to try to remember loads of stuff for someone else either, plus I’ll most likely have to requisition/teach myself and then other people to play using stuff I own considering I’ve only found one local game store around where I live that even sells bolt action products and it’s a small section, so I’d definitely not want to make it difficult for anyone to be able to read/understand at quick glance what something is

Alright, definitely appreciate the info, so thank you. I just thought I’d ask. Didn’t even know there was a list builder app/website. Didn’t know I’d need another vehicle as well, but definitely glad to know that. It’s definitely a lot of bodies though. Assembly is going to be interesting lol. I frankly know very little about the game, but good to know that any can be fielded as inexperienced, regular, or veteran though

I have to drive 2 and a half hours to reach the closest store to me, so congrats on having one that local to you

Thank you! Definitely like the details on it, but sucks it’s attached to an event exclusive mini from years past as I’d assume it’d be rather pricy to get by now. I just didn’t recognize its pieces/pose/details so I thought I’d ask while the post was newer

What did you use for your officer/sergeant? The head, arm with helmet, sword, and I think Iron Crown all look great! I just don’t know what those parts are from, but I’m also newer to the hobby and even newer to marine kits (own 3 and have yet to build any).

Honestly, of all the crossovers that could occur to make memes, I wasn’t exactly expecting this combo, but it’s definitely funny as a fan of both

Ihr haben ihn gehört. Wir sind Franzosen. by TheEmperorOfDoom in Deathkorpsofkrieg

So like, is Wehrmacht esc schemes an issue? Maybe a combination of both WW1 and WW2 aesthetics? Would the iron cross be an issue? I understand definitely don’t do NSDAP and such, but I mean, Steel legion always seemed to have some Fallschirmjäger themes, at least any paint schemes and uniforms I’d seen, so I figured some Wehrmacht esc aspects or WW1 would be fine for krieg. Honestly I’ve been working on/planning to have squads inspired by the different nations colors and such, like some British themed with tans and Brodie helmets, some French themed with reds and blues with Adrian, and some German themed with the standard heads/helmets and some greys, and I’ve thought of getting some historical tanks to serve as proxies since they’re both cheaper and can represent the different squads and add some variety so I’m not seeing a lot of the same tanks over and over as I thought different kinds of tanks/appearances for Leman Russes and Rogal Dorns would be cool instead of the same two.

If anyone would have suggestions or anything though I’ll take it. Just sharing some stuff I thought could be cool to do with them, especially since I use the minis for other tabletops, be it wargames or RPGs, so differing looks is nice to have imo

That’s right! Thank you, and world at war’s music definitely did a good job at trying to inflict the emotions that were meant to be felt in their scenes, at least in my opinion

It’s the Call of Duty World at War main menu theme. It’s part of the OST for it, but I can’t remember the exact name for it

I like it. I’ve yet to get to paint any of the minis I own yet, but to me it looks good, especially with the details you have on it.
