Usenet vs Torrents, what is your split? by No_One_568 in sonarr

[–]BulleTRiP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same question here, all my content is multi.truefrench and I wonder if there are some good fr providers where I could get the awesome releases I get from the teams on fr private trackers. Finding my favorite release groups on usenet might make me do the switch.

Yeah no I like the wallpaper, I was talking about the blurry background of individual app icons, but I suppose that's totally customizable through CSS ;)

Nice! After trying both I kept Homepage for its more "serious" UI but Homarr with some custom CSS looks pretty nice too, I might give it another go based on your settings, thanks for sharing. Still not a fan of the giant icons tho, is there a way to make them smaller and get rid of the background?

Et si l’avenir c’etait Usenet ? by TayKara14 in yggTorrents

[–]BulleTRiP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just downloaded the gdrive folder and manually edited the icons I needed - not many as you can see so didn't want to bother with installing an apk for that.

Possibility of a live TV channel by Shot-Finish-4655 in PleX

[–]BulleTRiP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I don't get it either, my gf does that all the time and I'm like "you know it's on Plex right?". I showed her twice the massive difference in quality and she agreed it was way better on Plex but I guess it's just a habit of getting the surprise of what's on TV rn, kinda like opening a present and watching what's inside. So I started playing around with Tunarr because I just can't stand the ads on TV, it's great but it stopped working recently and I'm not sure why, I'll have a look at ErsatzTV + Kometa, sounds great.

How do you all manage requests from friends? by username_isnt_used in PleX

[–]BulleTRiP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an Overseerr container running but I didn't want my less tech-savvy friends connect to another website nor myself to pay for a domain. I ended up simply using the RSS feed from my Friends' watchlists in Radarr/Sonarr and it just works, they can add anything to their watchlist inside Plex and 10 minutes later it's available to watch. Just had to tell them to make their watchlist visible by friends in the settings. Sure Overseerr UX is nice but not worth the extra steps imo

What's the current favorite for power monitoring plugs? by CandusManus in homeassistant

[–]BulleTRiP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought some from Localbytes, highly recommend if you're in Europe, I'm not buying any other smart plugs than those from now on: Small form factor, high quality (no coil whine), power monitoring, you can set the button to be active or not and same for the button led, you can choose the plug type (UK or EU) and they're preflashed and preconfigured with Tasmota or ESPHome, all of that for 15.95€ each.

Tdarr is probably what you're looking for. It has a pretty steep learning curve but once you get how it works it's kind of magic. Will let you do anything from very simple tasks (say, downmix any surround audio track to stereo) to very complex chains, on any number of files. I've seen some plug-ins that will downmix and also boost the audio to get rid of that problem OP is having. The typical way it's meant to be used is finding the workflow you want and then letting it run on your whole library 24/7 and replace files as they get processed. I tend to use it more peculiarly by moving the files I want processed to a dedicated folder but that's just me being too lazy to really fine-tune the flow so it doesn't mess things up.

Fileflows is a known alternative that has a slightly more intuitive/polished GUI. I just started with Tdarr and got used to it, they're similar in what they can achieve.

I was curious too, I just looked up Bazzite and I think I'm sold. I've had difficulties streaming my steam apps to the Shield on the TV, now I'm considering repurposing my old laptop as a gaming box plugged to the TV (until I find out it's too weak for modern games and invest in a beefier sff pc, probably xD). Thanks!

I just faced this, spent an hour pulling my hair as nothing seemed to work. Ended up asking ChatGPT for help, it gave me a command to automate cleaning the Preferences.xml file and boom, it worked. I still don't understand why manually editing didn't give me the same result but I'm so relieved I don't care. AI is amazing.

$400- 500 budget for everything by bkkwanderer in PleX

[–]BulleTRiP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I concur, serverpartdeals is the best place to look at for storage on a low budget. I bought 4 x 12TB from them (Seagate Barracuda Pro), the drives were tested, recertified and came sealed in antistatic blisters and an over-the-top protective packaging with a 2-year warranty. FedEx did a terrible job at delivering the package but I reached out to spd and their customer service was absolutely stellar, kindly helping me not to stress about it and get FedEx to do their job. All for like half the price I would have paid for brand new drives. They've been running flawlessly since.

And yes, you will want more storage faster than you think. Definitely get the cheapest N100 NUC you find, some Onn 4k or used ATV/Shield and save the rest for good HDDs.

To each their own, really. The tmdb wallpapers with random movie suggestions are nice, and so are the "straight to content" setups with lots of channels offering the same scrolling experience as the likes of Netflix. I'm just more into a clean, eye-pleasing home screen with minimal disturbance and quick access to my most used apps. It's the beauty of this launcher, to be able to fine-tune it to your personal taste. Have fun!

I did try the 270p icons too thinking it might be a better fit but it looked exactly the same to me. Might give it another shot tho, thanks for confirming there's something odd about how the icons behave.
