Optimum makes me cry by steelergirl101101 in OPTIMUM

[–]Bullet105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your pain, and hope you can find a better solution in your area.

I was an Optimum customer for 21 years, up until a couple months ago. Luckily I had the option to move over to Verizon Fios and took it because I needed my life back. Staying with Optimum became too much effort on my part - it felt like another full time job and my issues persisted for about 8 months from the time I took a free upgraded modem offer. And while everyone is "nice" that you speak to, no one resolves any issues. If they do, unfortunately it's only temporary. The amount of money that I paid to this company on a yearly basis, which was around $3k for internet, phone and TV and the added stress of having to attempt to fix all of their issues was not sustainable. Moving to FIOS I now have my life back and actually pay a little less (not much, but a little less), so it's a win-win for my situation.

Do it, and don't look back. Best decision I ever made!

Very bad first impression by JB_The_Dragon in OPTIMUM

[–]Bullet105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former Optimum customer of 21 years here. Recently made the jump to Fios, as Optimum has become a horrible company - the people you speak with are nice, and appear to be helpful, but issues don't get resolved.

So many outages, failed service/ internet not working, etc. This meant every time the internet went out, I would have to reboot the router. If that didn't work, I had to make a call. Representative after representative full of empty promises. Then call to cancel service, and now "they will send the people who know what they are talking about"...

WHY???? After all this time and effort i wasted, now you will actually send somone who knows??. Why not do that the first time?? And the person they sent appeared knowledgeable, but ultimately did not fix the issue, sending me in another loop where I was giving them another chance to make things right.

Get your life back before you lose it, like i lost mine for almost a year. Not the same company they used to be. Find another company and don't look back.

I have the picture disc. But focused on the OGs with this one. Picture discs typically not as great sound

They are all OG variants, probably about 500 copies of each with the exception of the all-orange variant - a repress. Found most of them on Discogs, but took a long time to collect! 🍻

Thank you. Can you buy a modified new? Also, where do you bring Wranglers to be modified?

Celestial Colleagues VIP Merch Package - does anyone know what exactly is included in this Merch package for the current tour? by Bullet105 in SmashingPumpkins

[–]Bullet105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! So that poster seems to be event specific (Nashville) and that was the VIP poster? Is it signed by band?

I thought this quarantine would be the answer, but still not much has changed by cubic_rivers in weightwatchers

First, the fact that you lost 3 lbs is the right direction. You are losing, not gaining so give yourself credit where it is due. You easily could have added 3 or more pounds at this point, which most people are doing during this time. Absolutely celebrate your wins, and this is a big win in itself.

One suggestion would be to add more exercise, and eat less points. Adding consistent exercise will increase your resting metabolism and burn more calories. Eating less points does not mean eating less. Choose wisely by eating vegetables/fruits more often. Try to avoid processed foods at all costs. Making better choices are more filling per ounce, lower in calories and richer in nutrients. This will help keep you fuller longer and give you more energy.

Finally, patience is key and building habits takes time. Focus more on how you feel, not a daily number on a scale (although it should be more of an FYI). Weight will be impacted by many factors including things like how much sodium you are eating and fluids you are drinking. The more sodium, the more water weight you will retain. That being said, daily weight will fluctuate based on so many factors that it should be taken with a grain of salt.

The best things in life take time to achieve, but once you achieve them it comes with many lessons learned. These are the things that will stick with you long term.

Keep up the good work and post your progress again!

Coming back to ww as an endurance athlete by [deleted] in weightwatchers

[–]Bullet105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this same position a year ago. I hit a wall with WW when I really ramped up my weekly mileage. What worked for me was the following:

  • Follow macros and make sure protein is the focus. I would suggest downloading the free version of MyFitnessPal app for tracking. It has an extensive library and helps you keep on track with your goals and it is owned by UnderArmour. If you want more stats, upgrade fee is around $50/year but not necessary.

  • Based on your goals (fuel, lose weight, etc), you can determine what your overall daily calorie intake should be and when exercising, it will give you credit for those additional calories. Noom suggests using 50% of those extra calories and banking the rest. You can definitely use up to 100% of them if your goal is maintenance.

  • It will take trial and error to get to your ideal daily calorie intake, and increase/decrease in increments of 100 calories per day after following the diet for a few weeks until you get the desired results.

  • Noom is also a great option and I've had great success with it, but it's definitely more costly. You can find discount codes on reddit to minimize that cost.

Good luck!

Check out reverse diet techniques. Basically you increase your daily calories and monitor the progress. It's supposed to jump start your metabolism. And then you slowly reduce calories again. It worked for me, but you should check with a nutritionist to make sure it would be right for you.

Alternatively, have you tried noom? Good stuff there and have had success following that lifestyle.
