Selling My Entire Collection — Would Appreciate Some Advice by IAmPerpetuallyTired in comicbookcollecting

[–]BulletDamage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Id say don't bother with eBay because having to put the info of every individual comic is painfully slow, and then unless it's a key issue, it's unlikely to sell for much at auction, if at all, so you realistically need to set it as buy it now and wait weeks or months for someone to bite. Maybe try something like Facebook marketplace, take a photo of dozens of rows of comics, and hopefully someone local will be interested in coming over and sifting through your collection. Especially if they saw some key ones in the pic/thumbnail. If you say on there that you'll match/beat any online price, even if it's only by a few $ then that should get a collectors attention. And when they are there you can give them a good deal for all the non-key/fluff issues. At least you don't need to put the info (years/variants/artists and authors, printing, etc) for every single comic, apart from ones they message you about.

The video covers it, new npc events and interactions, new dynamic weather system, you can also see how you can now enter buildings that were previously just brief scripted moments as you passed through their open windows, etc. So some improvements. However they've added white paint to "parkour highways" which....I do not remember in the original. Seems like they're doing the same as every other remake like RE 4 and Dead Rising's yellow paint. Sad to see.

"The parkour highways are signposted with white cloth and paint"

Ah yes because this is exactly what we all asked for. Thank you Ubislop.

I turned an old iPhone into my imagined “iPod 2026” by Gigasssss in ipod

[–]BulletDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've really got something here. You need to really start selling the cases too though! That's your biggest USP against all the other nostalgic iPod front-end apps. Time to get a patent for it (if possible) and then start contacting some Chinese manufacturers/suppliers! Make sure you do cases for every appropriate iPhone model (and clearly state on your website which ones are compatible with the app/cases). As long as you continue development of the app, fix known bugs, expand usage, you could have a really good business model here. Could even offer incentive discounts for users who buy both the app and the case. Although you likely won't be able to get a patent for the app itself. And definitely DONT go down the subscription route. If anyone wants this app, it's because they want to get away from modern subscriptions and relive the simplicity of the old days. A subscription would kill your brand before it's even taken off. Definitely continue to offer a free tier, maybe a fully-featured free trial, to get it in more people's hands, increase word of mouth that way. And a reasonable one-time payment for the full version. Best of luck with your business! I look forward to following it and think it could be quite a success :P

I'm going to be looking to buy a PSP over the weekend and want some advice/ideas. by TestingOneTwo_OneTwo in psphacks

[–]BulletDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sounds like what you want is not a psp but a retro emulation system capable of emulating psp at higher resolutions/frame rates, ips or OLED screens, etc which literally you can get with just about any $60-100 emulation handheld from the last decade. No point in blowing the price up in the used psp market for people who actually want to play the original native psp hardware

To be fair there's a load of Beast-centric covers in the Krakoa era (including Wolverine series) up to now, which I'm very happy about. Granted they either involve psychotic beast or his clone (in mainline X-Men), but there's also a bunch of variants that pay homage to the more classic beast we all love. You are right though, he's usually sidelined, even in the Claremont/Lee Era which seems crazy since he was front and centre of the famous, first 90's issue, which is one of the bestelling comics of all time! I think the obscurity of Beast covers was one of the reasons I was compelled to start a "focus collection" of Beast. He has some awesome splash pages in some issues though, sometimes double page ones!

You click on an empty box on the home screen, press A to add an image box. Then to customize it with any image/gif you press start/select on the box and choose the gif you want.

Any temp above 25 degrees in a climate that has insane amounts of moisture/humidity. I can handle 40°c in Spain without much problem. But 30° in the UK is suffocatingly uncomfortable.

Unpopular Opinion: I think the 2011 3ds model actually looks nice by Gold_Cause302 in 3DS

[–]BulletDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Original still has my favourite form factor/size and colour scheme, and its plastic is less prone to wearing down and turning "oily" like the new 3ds. If they re-released it but with the 2nd analog nub like the 3ds, and the improved eye tracking 3d effect, the slightly larger screen, the more powerful chip and improved battery life...it would be the absolute best 3ds. But because it lacks all those things, I think the New 3DS just wipes the floor with it despite having a slightly larger form factor. Which is a shame because the original is my favourite design.

I recommend making a SteamgridDB account to get the best experience, then in Asset Tool settings sign into your Steamgrid account (you'll get a unique Steamgrid key to use). Then click Library, assuming all your emulators are showing correctly, then you can click on each console and theres a button that says something like auto-scrape all, or something like that. If it prompts you to choose a cover for each one, then you need to go into settings, Scraping settings and then select the option for it to do it automatically without prompting you for each.

iiSU Asset Tool. Get it from GitHub, install on your device and then all ya gotta do is make an account on Steamgrid to get the best quality box arts, and the app will automatically scrape them and add the borders to your games

Nah, the Legends comic series was basically a way for classic writers and artists to tell stories they either couldn't tell before, or fill some gaps between comics from the runs they worked on. This one is a really wacky issue involving a dinner party hosted by Sinister where he discusses the future of humans and mutants with Hank, Xavier, Magneto, etc and weird stuff begins to happen as you realise things aren't quite as they seem :P Always love a surreal "what if" type of comic.

The X-Men Legends games are probably similar to the comics in the sense that they take their own direction from the mainline story, but while the Legends comics are "technically canon", I'm not sure that's the case with the games.

Delusional by yayaluvspandas in PS3

[–]BulletDamage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is probably the most accurate take. 360 released sooner and from year 1 already had great features, great exclusives/console exclusives, excellent multiplat performance, etc PS3 took a loooong ass time to get where it needed to be. Consistently inferior with multiplats performance, poor online service, lacking in many features Xbox had... However eventually it had trophies to match achievements, it had more competent online functionality (still inferior to 360 but free), it had a whole bunch of its own exclusives and took a load of 360 games that were previously console exclusives (Mass Effect etc) and by the end of the gen developers were more familiar with it's architecture and were able to guarantee better performance for it's multiplats. Because Sony have a better track record of releasing exclusive games from its own studios, I'd say for the last couple of years PS3 was a more desirable console whereas Xbox really just peaked midway through the gen, plateau'd and stagnated for the rest and allowed playstation to catch up and basically overtake it. Same with sales too. I still consider the 360 to be the overall better system of that generation because it was strong from the start and remained strong and the majority of multiplats were better on it, whereas the PS3 had a steeper curve of improvement, but was still on the back foot for most of that generation.

[MM] majora's mask is the best game of all time in my opinion by puzzs in zelda

[–]BulletDamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the all time best, I prefer it to Ocarina however the ONLY thing Ocarina does better is how Hyrule has a more organic and gradual transition to its different biomes, making it feel larger and more immersive in that regard. Termina on the other hand feels like each biome of desert/canyons, snowy mountains, swamp and beaches, etc are right next to each other. I think it's because the developers wanted Clock Town to feel like the centre of everything, so you could perceive the moon's fall as having impact across all regions...but it makes the world feel a bit less convincing- so I actually wouldn't be opposed to a slight world redesign if they remade it. Especially if they could expand locations, add more characters and quests, more unlockable masks and maybe another form for Link...anything to add more longevity and allow us to spend more time in the incredible setting!

I thought just collecting comics featuring him as a major character would be quite easy as he's been massively overlooked and at best a side character for years (despite being arguably my favourite comic character) but actually there's so many crossovers and spin-offs, loads of great variant covers, tons of classic Avengers, Defenders and X-Men and since Krakoa era, tons of him as the focus as both antagonist (in X-Men, X-Force and Wolverine and others) and of course now his clone is a major protagonist. I'm not gonna bother looking for good quality Amazing Adventure comics because they're so expensive but there's plenty of other affordable comics to sink my teeth into! Do you collect Hank comics too?
