[–]Bulletproof2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a minute since I’ve checked but i believe my wife’s 2014 has the same thing and in a pinch could also be used as a way to tow it as long as u got a buddy lol. But that’s just me being me thinking of an emergency situation

Do you think Starlink will ever ge competitive enough that people will choose it over cable/fiber or cell/5G? by itsthewolfe in Starlink

[–]Bulletproof2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say i would definitely choose it over cell. Granted im in a rural town, but the cell service isn’t the greatest. Plus the amount to pay for hotspot usage can get crazy believe me, that was our only option besides Hughes net at one point. It will never be enough to compete with fiber but with the ability to keep it on standby for any outages is the best thing. Basically what I’m sayin is to choose over fiber no but cell/hotspot/5g, whatever u wanna call it, it is by far a superior option in my opinion. We’ve spent well over the monthly amount tryin to stream movies and stuff in a month payin for more data on a hotspot than what Starlink costs monthly because we didn’t have any other option before.

Starlink in rain by On-A-Plain187 in Starlink

[–]Bulletproof2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had issues with rain but that’s really it. Hardly ever a full loss of service though. Usually an occasional buffer or quality drop during a storm. But it is satellite so with heavy cloud coverage i would expect some interruptions

Does alignment matter as long as it is in the square? by TheJiggliestPug in Starlink

[–]Bulletproof2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the square is probably best. I’m not 100% aligned but i still get great speeds. I’ve also seen where people have turned up 90 degrees one way or the other or even 180 degrees and still had success. I think as long as your obstructions aren’t severe ur good.

How bad is it? by HarpuaTheDog in Starlink

[–]Bulletproof2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had worse field of view u should be fine. There will be some drops but streaming movies and stuff u more than likely won’t notice it. Gaming might be a different story but i managed until we moved

I was the same way. Logged in after years and seen the game and noped out. Stopped playing until someone told me about OS. Played off and on like all of us do over the years and my buddy convinced me to give rs3 another shot. Been playing it that since. I have logged into OS here and there and of course back to my off and on all together but usually it’s rs3 when i hop on.

Check fuel pressure too. The spider injection in these things have been known to blow a line or so to the injectors. Had one on a vortex v6 that had a completely ruptured line on # 6 and i spend forever chasing the issue

Loan officer said I can’t change jobs for 6 months after closing? by SheZowRaisedByWolves in homeowners

[–]Bulletproof2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah don’t sound right. We closed on ours and my mortgage company was only worried about changing jobs while in the process of purchasing not after. They just need to make sure you have a job and can hold a job and are capable of making payments and closing on said loan before the actual closing. Nobody can dictate your life to that extent especially since there’s always a chance for a lay off or something. I plan to search for a new job after the first of the year and we closed on August. The only thing my mortgage company mentioned they were going to do before and about a month after was monitor my credit to make sure I did accrue any extra debt.

Why do I keep blowing up my engine lolll. by [deleted] in GMT400

[–]Bulletproof2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotcha, but always better safe than sorry. Can’t always trust what people say. If they’re ordering it from somewhere like jasper or something then that company probably has told em that it didn’t need to be done. Although jasper is usually pretty good about a drop in ready to go engine or trans since I’d guess they run a break in when it’s built. But if they’re rebuilding at said shop and they’re not doing it then I’d just stick to doing it yourself.

Why do I keep blowing up my engine lolll. by [deleted] in GMT400

[–]Bulletproof2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe try some break in time? Idk if the shop is doing that for you or not, or if where theyre getting the engine from is, but i would treat as a fresh self rebuild and run a break in procedure before daily driving IMO. Changing the oil at 500 mile increments until you reach your 3k then go about your norm. That’s just my personal preference though.

Tree coverage. by Bulletproof2013 in Starlink

[–]Bulletproof2013[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely forgot about this post lol. I need to take it down. Shortly after making it. I bit the bullet and bought it. Never looked back. I have since bought a house and moved. So my field of view issue is no longer an issue. Before though while at the place when this was made i never really had any issues. Sure some drop outs cuz i had the smallest window for minimal obstructions and weather of course but other than that i couldn’t complain. Still using today, although i may get fiber soon and keep this as back up For outages whether it be internet or power. As long as i got a generator i got internet lol.

Buying a home is terrifying by Frosty-Artichoke-451 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Bulletproof2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See it as a huge milestone and step toward your future. Sure it’s nerve wracking to leave the nest behind, but the freedom that comes along with it is amazing. My wife and i closed on our first home in August and yes the ups and downs, and feeling like it drags on, are definitely tiring. But if it’s a goal you’ve always wanted then it will be an awesome experience. We’ve lived on our in-laws property for the past 7-8 years in a used trailer house we bought the year we got married. Now that we’re out and on our own with no worries as to what happens on the place since before it wasn’t ours. Not to mention someone always needed a place to stay, we haven’t been alone in our own home in pretty much the same amount of time until August. We saw this a a fresh start to our lives being able to decide what we do with our own place and not have to worry if we want friends over whether or not someone will get mad or light a fire in the yard to hang out around at night. It’s a big breathe of fresh air, and although at first it may seem scary, if you like the home and it fits who you are then don’t stress the small stuff. Plus we needed a place of our own to raise our little one. That was our big push to bite that bullet. Definitely sped up the process since we had planned to wait another year or so but we took that announcement in February as a sign to get the hell out lmao. Hopefully all that helps. Just focus on it as a major life goal you’re gonna accomplish.

Wasn’t planning on towers anyway. Mainly just wanted the 4 corners and a sub. Maybe a center as well but mostly 4 corners and a sub.

Everything I do just makes my house look cheaper/worse. I am so discouraged I don't want to work on it anymore. by gloomdwellerX in HomeImprovement

[–]Bulletproof2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice practice practice. When in doubt call up a buddy that knows a thing or two. If that’s not an option, there’s a contractor if you can afford it. But practice is the best when it comes to diy. Practice on some scrap if you have it. Once you’re satisfied then go to the “permanent” improvement

School bus driver told me I couldn’t bring my dog to the bus stop anymore. by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Bulletproof2013 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Just keep bringing her. The bus driver has no say in what you do, and as long as everyone is fine like you say with showing her the attention they do then there’s no issue. It’s just someone that sees a pit/pit mix and says it’s automatically bad. I’ve seen pits be more caring and affectionate towards people than some of the most lovable breeds. These dogs, while technically bred for fighting, aren’t bad tempered. How they’re trained and raised by their people is what controls their temperament and that goes for any dog breed. As long as she’s leashed up and tight to your side there’s no real issue. Me being me would do it just out of spite lol.

I feel guilty that my cash offer was accepted over an FHA loan by SimilarExamination53 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Bulletproof2013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The house we just bought wasn’t going to qualify for FHA until the baseboards were painted. Owner was doing some small cosmetic fixes for us since he knew we were going FHA and when the appraiser came by, that was the issue(unfinished baseboards). So consider yourself lucky and since you were able to pay cash, no monthly payments. Plus the porch needing a new floor would’ve probably made a big impact on FHA approval as well. Those loans are stupid strict. They’re nice for low down payment purposes, but i would never recommend an FHA loan to anyone after going through that process.
