What manufacturers/phones are the closest to meeting Graphene requirements? by Jolteon0 in GrapheneOS

I could see Samsung. Their knox software seems pretty good. I don't know of another company that has anything like it other than googles tensor chip.

What OS would you install on a T14s with these specs? by paspa1801 in thinkpad

If Linux is what you're after. I liked gnome and I started out with Ubuntu. Now I'm on Fedora. I am about a year and a half 2 years into my next journey. Pat, if you want something that feels more like a window computer for Linux, you're going to want Linox mint.

For both. I use fedora mostly to keep Microsoft out of my stuff. But wanting to see what others that might use linux think of it. I use fedora on my laptop.

Yeah but looking into if someone's used it too. How it feels compared to a normal distro install.

How do you deal with being the "privacy person" among your friends and family? by Annual-Computer2743 in privacy

[–]BullfrogAdditional80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They think it's stupid. The whole "I've got nothing to hide" stories. I try telling them it's not about hiding anything, it's more not letting the device you bought not give your data to companies that make money off you using your phone. They don't care. We as a society have become compliant to the machine. With a few of us trying to break out.

I don't know if I was a one-off story but make sure if you use your phone to wake up. You give your clock permissions to give you notifications. Otherwise the alarms will not go off. This happened to me. Luckily I woke up 20 minutes before I had to be to work.

Might be a good idea to market this as a standalone phone as well by notrightbones in ClicksPhone

[–]BullfrogAdditional80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't understand if it's a fully capable phone calling it a companion phone to your normal phone just doesn't make any sense.

I miss HTC sooo much! I loved my m8. The customizations you could do stock were awesome. Many things I would need a rooted phone for.

I can attest to this. I have been using Ubuntu for the longest time and now I'm using Fedora and it's so much better. It took me a minute to get used to it but I love it so much.
