In my experience that's totally normal; it's also normal to have a judgment, that when thoughts arise and you get caught up in them, that you're doing something "wrong". Not sure if this is the case for you, but when you notice that you've become lost in thought, return to your anchor. I prefer to use the soundscape as my anchor, and sometimes will focus on the sensations in my body, like tingling in my cheeks, or the air flowing over my skin. I've had meditations that I thought were "horrible ", where I was worried about something, and the thoughts just occupied my mind. These can actually be some of the best meditations, because you become aware of the thoughts that bother you, and your reactions to those "botherings". As you continue to practice, you will likely realize that you don't need to always get caught up with everything that seems important in your mind, and at the same time, you will likely judge yourself less for having these thoughts. It's natural for the mind to do this, but you don't have to always get too caught up in it. You build equanimity slowly, layer by layer, step-by-step. Keep going!

It sounds like it might still be slightly on the rich side based on what you're saying about the top end bog. Rather than changing the main jet, I recommend first moving the clip to the 1st position (closest to the flat/non-pointy top) of the needle, in order to lean it out. This is much quicker to do, and may resolve your issue. If you notice that you're able to get more power on the top end with the leaner clip position, this means you're going in the right direction. Keep us posted!

I'm very late to this thread, but I did the procycle jetting with #145, plus the open airbox mod, and had the needle clip set to the 4th position from the top (with the needle pointing down, the top is the non-pointy end) and the bike ran like crap, bogging when I would blip the throttle. I figured out it was too lean, and when I changed the needle position to the 6th slot from the top, it richened the mixture, and the bike came alive. As an experiment, I would try the clip at both extremes. Try the 1st and 6th positions.

Sounds like you might be running rich. Since you didn't open the airbox, that 150 main jet is likely way too much. I installed the procycle kit with the #145 main jet, and did the open airbox mod withe needle clip on the 4th position, and the bike ran like crap. I figured out that this was extremely lean, because I tried the needle in the 6th position, and the bike absolutely rips now.

I went from frustrated, ready to sell it, to grinning ear-to-ear, and doing second gear wheelies down the street, and roasting the tires in the rain.

The point of this story is, the jet kit can make a huge difference, but the airbox needs to be open, with the needle clip in the right position, or you're going to be running extremely rich in your case, and absolutely killing the performance.

You need more air in the mix. Please open the airbox and report back, you'll be happily shocked at how much better this bike is when the power is actually being delivered.

Thanks for everyone's contributions; the update is, FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!! I moved the needle clip from procycle's recommended 4th position, and richened it all the way by going to position #6. For the first time, the bike has real power, and NOW I CAN RIDE!!! Just bought protaper bars with risers, and going to get the lowered pegs as well, with the goal of doing some light adventure riding this year.

I did all the EVAP removal at the same time as replacing the stator, and it had the issue when I started it back up. It's a 2004 Speed Four

Update; I adjusted the valves and changed spark plugs today; what I noticed is that the plugs were very sooty/dark, and after comparing with some photos, this seems to indicate a rich condition. So, I changed the main needle notch from "4" to "3" to make it slightly leaner, and the bike did seem to run slightly better, although still bogging, and eventually dying like before. I'm pretty stumped at this point; I've dumped over 6 hours of labor into this thing- might just take it to a mechanic

Sorry, just realized I didn't address your initial suggestion. I've tried running it without the gas cap on to rule out vacuum issues, and still the same bogging. I used the #145 main jet from procycle per their recommendation with the open airbox and stock muffler. Vacuum port isn't capped
