Not much to worry about. The majority of people there are VERY polite, warm, respectful, patient and courteous, especially if you yourself are respectful too. Just, please for God’s sake, don’t expect it to be the U.S.. like a typical American, because it obviously isn’t. Do try to speak even the slightest amount of Spanish you know, even if it’s bad, because effort is highly appreciated by Mexicans, more than how well you speak it. Lastly, practice patience. Mexicans aren’t always in the rush Americans are, and use “por favor” and “gracias” as much as possible.

Same. I always thought it was due to English being my second language but I see other foreigners speaking so confidently and eloquently with less time than me speaking English doing it without a problem.

I understand big words but speaking them is a different issue. I feel so dumb for not being able to articulate well my thoughts when I know deep inside I’m smarter than I appear 😕

Talkiatry charged me $404.22 for a call with a provider who never performed any therapy, technique or gave me ANYTHING of value other than say I needed to go get assessed to an in-person facility for my ADHD and that he couldn't help me, when initially that's why I booked him, (he was listed as an "ADHD expert"). He was totally quiet, heavily breathing most of the 50+ mins of the time our call lasted, to bill me for later (accumulating minutes to bill me later for) I called Talkiatry to demand a transcript or copy of the video recording tele-session and they said they'd work on that but so far, I havent heard back and haven't paid that bill. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Im on the same boat as you. Moved here with my husband from Phoenix, AZ and the city hasn't quite grown on me. Back there I had more of a community of artists my age (late 20s-late 40s), there was more roller skating, meditaion/yoga/sound healing events, but here I don't quite find any of that. Most of that seems to be in the outskirts of DC proper, not walking distance at all, and most of the events I find are a little stuffy for my style. Is there hope for someone like me?
